Why are the default install settings for Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 not the same as the "Default Settings" used in the troubleshooting guide?

I didn't download anything. I just ran the troubleshooter that came on the original disk, and hit "restore defaults". Crazy.

The Dot and the Line is the greatest math-related book of all time. So much easier to read than Flatland, and I don't think Discworld books actually count as math-related.
