Post subject: I'm going to the Disney shareholders' meeting!
I have a confession to make. I've never told anyone on the Internet this, and it's not that I wanted to keep it a secret or anything; it's just that no one ever bothered to ask: I've been a stockholder for The Walt Disney Company for 8 years now. My dad bought me some stock for the company as a birthday present when I was 13. I never bothered telling anyone because I didn't see it as a big deal. It wasn't like owning stock would make me an "insider" all of a sudden. I never went to any meetings or the like, nor did it give me a job there; I was just holding stocks for the company, and that was it.
Well, after 8 years, my stock now has some purpose to it: Yesterday in my mail, I received an invitation to the annual Walt Disney Company shareholders' meeting! I couldn't go in previous years because the meetings weren't held anywhere in southern California for many years. My family couldn't afford to buy the miles to go to these places, so we didn't go. This is the first time in a decade that the stockholders' meeting takes place near my area. It's about 30-60 minutes from where I live, so I'm going!

-George Mitchell
-Robert Iger
-Other board directors that no one ever hears about
The people that may be there (pending):
-Steve Jobs
-John Lasseter
-Michael Eisner (likely for a tribute)
Possible screenings (all pending):
-Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
-Cars
-The Shaggy Dog (I don't care about this)
-Meet the Robinsons
-American Dog
-Rapunzel
-Useless DTV sequels (The Fox and the Hound II, Brother Bear II)

Just Kidding, I'm actully somewhat interested of what goes on at these meetings.
How much stock do you own of the company?
Are these benefits of attending the conference given to all people with stock, or the barrens with enough shares to buy china? _________________ -Ixidor
