I love ToS soo much, but y'know it got me thinking. I get this strange thought of Kratos yelling out "Snake!!!!!!!!!!!!" and Lloyd yelling out "Slade!!!!!!!!" for some odd reason >.>

Just got ToS after renting it once. By the way, if you have Zelos, set him as your avatar and then talk to any female NPC. Even the 6 year old female NPCs. Why? Simple. They give you free stuff. In Meltokio alone I got over 2000 Gald, a Rune Bottle, Miracle Gels, and a whole bunch of other stuff.
And the battle system is great. Combos are fun. Current high is 35. I can get to 13 with just Lloyd, and would have had some higher combos if the enemies didn't die first . . .
We're just about to step into Luin to deliver the letter, and we've gotten a 32 combo. (This is Bono, Ix, and myself) Unfortunately, I can no longer play this game solo, so I'll be without it for a while ..

Luin, as in the city has been destroyed and you're trying to rescue the people Luin and don't yet have any summons Luin?
I'd say you're about . . . 3 or 4 hours from getting the awesome gift-givingness that is Zelos (By the way, found out that this gift-giving happens because that what his Lv 2 Ex Sphere Personal skill does). However, you have me beat in the multiplayerness. I have no friends that are skilled with a cube that don't work when I don't work. I think my top combo is 35 though. If not, then higher. I'm level 41 right now. I need to retool my moves around to get Lloyd to go fluidly from a Lv 2 skill to a Lv3. All the Lv 2 knock the enemy away or leave me in a possition that I'm not ready to go into the selected Lv 3.
Found that Techs are better though. Normal-fighting-combo--->Tiger Blade--->Sword Rain: Alpha = 16 hit combo. My Unison Attacks top out at 21, so 16 with just Lloyd ain't shabby. _________________ anime is teh s uck

This actually would go in both the games AND movie thread, but I decided to put it here. FDD would be proud.
After looking up the official Legend of Dragoon website on the front page it mentions a movie...Clickign the link and you'll find it does not work. If anyone could get information on this, such as if it's japan only, if it was canceled etc, I would be very thankfull. _________________ *Floats by on a cloud*

Interesting Slim...i'll have to keep an eye on it. Although the site looks like it hasn't been updated in ages.
As far as ToS goes, my highest combo is 118....all thanks to Lucky Unison. lvl 1 taunt + lvl 2 personal on lloyd gets you the ex skill which randomly leaves your unison bar at full when you use it. basically the 118 went like this 4-hit combo > Raining Tiger Blade > Unison attack(Sword Rain: Alpha, Angel Feathers, Cyclone, Ray) > Unison Combo Prism Stars > repeat last 3 steps....yeah. Though i'm on my second playthrough and with exp*2 most things dont last more than a 60 hit combo ^^;; _________________ There is limited intelligence in the galaxy, but the stupidity of the universe is infinite.

my list is as follows...
---
PS1:
Arc The Lad Collection
Parasite Eve II
Suikoden
Suikoden II
Tales Of Destiny
Tales Of Destiny II
Thousand Arms
Vagrant Story
PS2:
.hack//Quarantine
Fallout: Brotherhood Of Steel
Mega Man Anniversary Collection
Phantasy Star Trilogy
Shadow Hearts
Sonic Mega Collection +
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection
---
since i don't buy used games, many of the ps1 titles are now considered "rare" and are insanely overpriced to find new, so i'm not holding out too much hope on the majority of 'em...the ps2 titles are mainly just a matter of time (as you can probably tell...) _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

eh, i've just had some bad luck with used games messing up consoles in the past, so i can't help but search for a new copy of any game i want...i figure if i desperately want to play a game, i'll bite the bullet and either rent or buy a used copy (basically the same thing), but i've got like twenty games i have yet to play right now, so it'll be a while before i get to that point... _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

to try and breath some life into this thread:
i've noticed that companies are trying to strike gold with packaging games/series from the past and re-releasing 'em...mega man: anniversary collection, street fighter: anniversary collection, and sonic mega collection either have or will be out by the end of the year, and conspiracy games is working on two sega-related game packages for early next year...this got me wondering about other possible compilations/collections i'd be willing to invest in if they were created...
my first thought was a mortal kombat package, which i guess would be the arcade ports of mk1, mk2, mk3, and ultimate mk3, alongside the usual array of unlockable character sketches, storyboards, and behind-the-scenes stuff...if something like that were made, i think i'd have to buy it...
another must-buy would be some sort of "streets of rage" compilation, as i have many fond memories of that particular series...i guess the only thing stopping that is the fact that there's only three games in the series (unless there were handheld versions that were different in some way), so it would probably play through rather quickly...
what about the "shining" series? though i only played through shining force ii, i have played a little of sf1 and shining in the darkness, and was tempted to buy a used saturn primarily to play sf3, so putting those games together with any other pre-existing 'shining' titles i may not know could make for a cool package...
anyone else got some ideas? _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

lvl 1 taunt + lvl 2 personal always gives the unison guage ponus. With all 4 characters set to it, the thing fails to drop about half the time. Things get rather insane when you get three U. Attacks in a row. Of course, FAK and Ix abhore the idea of "free damage" and insist that the level 1s be switched back to 'magic' or 'strong' for thier measly 2 or 3 percent bonusses to a stat. (By the way, I agree with my partners that actually taunting does indeed suck.)
Ix, FAK, and I (Mostly Ixidor and myself) got through the game a couple weeks ago, and I'll tell ya, that game was amazing (I actually plan on writing a review at some point). The visuals, gameplay, EVERYTHING. I only had two problems: the camera (focusses only on player 1 and his target), and those puzzles at the end (the ice and zero-g ones).
The game is tremendous amounts more fun multi-player, and of course, the plot is the usual to-notch. If only Fujishima-san hadn't made the ending so parallel that of the Ah! My Goddess movie... _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

I agree with you completely there Bono, but I think ToS came out just at the right time so we can prepare ourselves for Star Ocean: Till the End of Time.....which comes out on tuesday . _________________ There is limited intelligence in the galaxy, but the stupidity of the universe is infinite.
