The tomatoes are a reference to season 1. They are a group of children given memories by the senior rosewater. Roger calls them this because of the symbolism "Of the Tomatoes being in season" from season 1 and 2.

The issues with Angel in this episode. Stuff that happens to dorothy. The fact that (SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!) Angel sees more of her kind. And I beleive that the union is Europe

*Watches taped episode 20*

.......

"CAST IN THE NAME OF GOD, YE NOT GUILTY" Shocked

Holy crap! I haven't seen that quote in Season 2 at all. NOT ONCE! It's nice to see that the famous quote is finally back. Mr. Green

Also, this episode was very plot-heavy. It's nice to see that we're finally getting SOMEWHERE. We find out what the deal with Angel is about (well, some of it, anyway), a lot about the farmer guy from episode #13's history, and (if you haven't seen this episode yet, don't read the spoiler)

EDIT: Damn it! The spoiler tags have to be nonexistant in these forums, don't they? Evil or Very Mad

Short version. Dont have the time to do the long one

*************SPOILERS***********
- We meet gordon rosewater again. We hear the same speel about the tomatoes. It doesnt so much add to the plot. As reinforce what we already knew. "The tomatoes arent in season" and adds Roger saying "Im a tomato". Thank you season 2 for some of the lamest lines. Oh well.

- Dorothy hears a song. Follows it and find Angels other agents. Dorothy's not herself obviously and harlequin shoots her a few times and is about to drill her a new air hole. When we end the episode

-Angel is part of the union. My guess is thats the European union. She is agent 23412465t or something like that. And Harle Quin the droid is one of them to. Her boss Agent 12 isnt happy with her. And Angel decides to try to save Dorothy. I think in part 2. Angels going to save dorothy. And theres this little part of me that things angels a droid.

- Angel and Roger have a real nice talk and roger looks like hes going to get him some of the heavenly booty. He waits a second like a gentlemen. Angel accuses him of being in love with dorothy. Laughs and runs off. Roger is getting a set of blue balls when he needs his bot.

- Big O vs the combina deuce. Roger doing to much talking again does a nice fight for once. He makes a comment about not letting it topple rosewaters shrine. Then uses the piston punch AS HIS OPENING ATTACK!and manages to do it himself. He goes for the kill with chrome laser when.. what?! Big O says no?! Big O has a soul?! All these questions and more in next weeks Stripes part 2.

-But wait theres more. The younger rosewater yells at his new megadeuce and tells it. "What does" name forgotten but he means the combinadeuce "think its proving?"

++**************************SPOILER OVER ***********

It was a very busy episode. The only down time was the love story between angel (showing her shoulder scars again) and Roger. Which you think might be going somewhere. And then BAM she acts like an ass and runs away.

Theres tons of plot. A decent battle at the end. And it raises a lot of question. Downsides in the diner Roger wasnt Roger. Ignoring Angel and talking about the food Norman makes (see i can remember names) was completly out of character. The car in foot thing was pretty lame. And just wrong in so many ways. Dorothy's actions are completly against character, she wont defend herself, but look to be part of the overall plot.

Im glad I recorded it. I wish i hadnt deleted it. I would like a second viewing. And yes this is my short recap.

Tomatoes are back on the menu, eh? Thanks for the recap, Fodder.

I don't mind the details, since I don't have access to CN. I'm looking forward to the DVD release, which, as is normal for US television, happens after the series run is completed.

Nobu's picture was funny, and well deserved. Your picture was the un-called for retaliation typical of a 13 year old n00b. We all need to be put in our place sometimes, including me. Don't be mad an Nobu for your own mis-judgement.

Not always. Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, the Trunks saga of DBZ, some episodes of Rurouni Kenshin, and Blue Gender were already on DVD long before they hit CN. Also, ADV Films is using a lot of its already-DVD-released properties on The Anime Network.

However, Big O was made for TV release, as opposed to CB, Kenshin, Trigun, etc., which were first released on video/dvd because there wasn't a demand for them on TV.

All of them were also made at least 5 years ago, then licensed and released in English with no plans at the time for a U.S. television broadcast (there was no perceived market).
As opposed to Big O II, where it was planned from the beginning to be broadcast first, then released to video.

Thanks, in part, to CN and Toonami.
That's how much of an influence they've had over the years.

In Big O II you can feel where they cut corners. The hard reliance on showing parts of season 1. The lazy animation style. The lack of many new characters. It really exists to be there for fans on season 1. And not to draw in new fans. Though i have seen it draw at least one of my friends in. WHo at work went "Okay what does this mean in it".

If you look closely, you'll see that the characters' mouths move differently than in season 1. It seems like they were animated to speak english.
