I would only get an XBox for one game, and it's not Halo (although Halo is still a pretty good FPS). Of course, that game itself would run me over $150 initially, and take a live subscription (any guessers). Anyhow, I'd like to partially agree with the lack of games, but point out the awesomness of nearly ever game for the system. I really think Nintendo got a bad start (It didn't launch with Melee, after all), but the titles we've seen are stunning, and certainly worth dropping the $100 investment into the console. I couldn't imagine gaming today without Melee, Link in SCII, Metroid Prime, or Wind Waker as games people could talk about. Eternal Darkness is a fantastic piece of storytelling (so much that the Resident Evil series is taking from from it than ED did from RE). The Rogue Squadron games have been excellent as well.
I'm really upset that we won't get to see that one ridiculously good looking game (can't remember it's name) that was previewed at E3 2000, which won't be out until around 2005, but one thing Nintendo stands for is waiting until something is complete (save Melee, which was rushed out the door to sell Cubes). We get to see a couple really great RPGs for the Cube this year, Baten Kaitos and Tales of Symphonia. I know I'm buying them. And Metroid Prime: Echos, of course.

See that's the thing, the entirety of my school is made up of gamers, I think I've heard mention of those about games a conbined total of about 6-10 times over the last three years. SCII was a fairly common topic of discussion and gameplay (still is a bit as it's played fairly often in the studen lounge) but never for it's inclusion of link. I heard more talk about prime being a disapointment because it just wasn't the same, that it was good damn good, but just not really metriod. I probably don't need to go on so I won't but for a school of such a gaming concentration (including most of the faculty and staff) GC is barely a blip on the radar.

As I've said before there was only two ways for me to buy a gamecube. One was a Shining Force sequal which we recently found out was coming to ps2 and a sequal to Lunar.

When I stop and think about games in general Im dissapointed. I don't really like sport games, don't like TOO many RPG's, and HATE....HATE..anything made by Blizard.(EX. Diablo) So you could categorize me as an "intellegent" 3rd person shooter games, action, sci-fi adventure gamer. And if I were to think about good games I've played in the past two years, I could count them on both hands. I guess what I'm saying is, there is a massive need for a larger pool of good games. That really goes for all systems.

But, if anyone was interested here the games I am awaiting so patiently for:
-Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
-Halo 2
-Doom 3
-The next game in the line of Legacy of Kain series (whatever it me be called)
-Half-Life 2
-And the desperate hope that Ninja Guiden will be ported to PS2 ......I mean, whats the deal with XBOX getting that anyway??? Nintendo released the orginal, if anyone should've gotten it, Nintendo should have. Although its probably not "suitable" for their clientel.(kids)

basicly it's because xbox got the nexgen doa series and have been doing well with it and tecmo loves us xboxers.PS2 has just as much chance of getting ninja gaiden as xbox does of getting shinobi. just not gonna happen this round.

what I'ld really like to see next gn systems have is usb plugs soley for the use of jump drives as memory cards. Alot of people have them and they can be really cheap for those that don't.

It wouldn't be very hard for either Microsoft or Sony to do. All Micorsoft needs to do is add USB ports, Sony just needs some software. At least Sony didn't break their memory cards into blocks for the PS2, that was just anoying as hell on the PS1. Sony is trying to get into the on-line market with FFXI. It's also the first game for the PS2 which will utilize the HDD for game play. I'd like to see Sony work it out so that you could store your favorite 2 or 3 games on the HDD, and use the memory card as the key to play them. That way you could have improved load time and not have to worry about game disks when traveling. On an interesting note, Sony sells a Lunix conversion kit so you can turn your PS2 into a full-blown lunix computer and game machine.

In regards to something Bono said at the top of this page.

I'm an avid Game Cube Fan. But the Rouge Squadren games have been glitchy as all hell and could have been TONS better than they are. There are so many little things wrong with them, they piss me off. The only good thing are the Sonic Blast things in Rogue Squadren III, and those even defy physics.

ok, here's an example of how nintendo doesn't work.

Gamecube:
* 06/07 - The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures
* 08/30 - Pikmin 2
* 09/27 - Donkey Konga
* 10/11 - Paper Mario 2
* 11/15 - Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
* 11/29 - Star Fox
* Q4, 2004 - Geist

Game Boy Advance:
* 05/24/04 - Mario vs. Donkey Kong
* 06/07 - The Legend of Zelda
* 06/07 - Super Mario Bros.
* 06/07 - Ice Climber
* 06/07 - Excitebike
* 06/07 - Donkey Kong
* 06/21 - Mario Golf: Advance Tour
* 07/26 - Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Games
* 09/07 - Pokémon FireRed & Pokémon LeafGreen
* 09/14 - F-Zero GP Legend
* 10/04 - Mario Pinball
* 10/18 - Kirby & The Amazing Mirror
* 11/15 - Donkey Kong Country 2
* 12/06 - Mario Party Advance

out of this list, how many are original non well established titles? Geist, and .... Ice Climber? I'll count Donkey Kinga in there seeing as it's a drum based game; so three, three out of every game they announced at e3 this year is original. way to frickin deliver.

Yeah, my problems are with some of the sheer impossibilities of the games. Like completing most of the missions while getting the upgrades. Or completing the missions. The multiplayer for Rogue Squadron 3 just makes it worse.
