If they can get the same games on Xbox as they can on GCn or PS2, why would you buy a GCn or PS2 since they have less power?
On another note, I still haven't read it. _________________ The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

Exactly.
I think they're also aiming for the future; the "N" in XNA is "next-generation" (Xbox 2, PS3, "Super Gcn"). But of course, your best experience would still be on the future Xbox, as it would be, in future marketspeak, "the only platform capable of utilizing XNA to its full potential". _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. My take on it was that Microsoft wants it to be super easy to port games between Windows and XBox, that way developers would be more inclined to make the game on both.
But, that's not the main thing. Supposedly with the GCN2 running pretty much the same hardware as the XBox2, it will be easy to port games between the two of those. Now for example, if you make the game on the GCN2, then you easily port it to the XBox, then you easily port it to the PC, then you have 3 easy (read low production cost) versions of the game that aren't on Sony's platform (if you don't know, Sony is the undisputed market leader). I think it's a big plan to dethrone Sony of it's market dominance.
Yes, it's nice that they're trying to help small developers with their games, but when Microsoft does something like this, you have to say to yourself:
"What's in it for Microsoft?"
