So what did all you people think about the new Adult Swim look? I thought that it was great and the new episodes were awesome. _________________ Look i changed my sig!

Awesome, I ended up watching the whole thing last night.
It sorta made you feel that the people there were actually human. Oh incase any of you missed it what they did was cut out all of the Adult Swim promos, graphics, intros, commercials and the such, and in place used just simple white text on a black background...sorta like this....odd
Anyway they did a couple little segments talking about why they liked certain shows, why they switched the formats, and about new stuff that they're working on. Including a statement saying that they have 6 new Space Ghost's in the making, new Brak shows airing in October and that they are going to ask for more Oblongs eps.
Maybe. _________________ Bang. |

That was the first time I've seen Sunday's AS in a while, and I loved the new format. It kicked major ass and made me laugh with each new message. It seemed to me like William's Street was actually having fun. It's always fun watching people having fun. It was a blast. _________________ anime is teh s uck

i thought it was a great way to present the block differently from anything else on tv...i can honestly say that last night was the first time i saw adult swim sunday past 12 since the original lineup when cowboy bebop was new...
i'm kinda concerned about how often they plan to update this though...i was originally under the impression that only the sunday night shows would get this (the weekdays keeping the format started in january), but apparently this is set to be the look for the whole week...if they start re-airing the same messages too quickly, i think it'll become old fast...guess i'll just have to wait and see on that...
favorite line from last night:

That's right,
Anime is back on Sunday nights.
Deal with it.

My favorite one was when they showed a profound quote from Hiziyaki Mizaki or whatever his name is (The Spirited Away guy. You know who I'm talking about) and then they said "That's why he won an Oscar." _________________ anime is teh s uck

I don't think Williams Street will have any problem making new cards to liven things up. Like they said: "Reasons we like these simple black and white cards: They're cheap! Easy to produce!"
I loved the schedule; they were playing eastern music, and in the bottom-left corner of the screen, you saw this.
[all times and music eastern]

I liked their C.O.B. cards.

They are honest on these cards, aren't they?

...beat me to it (i was planning to point that one out as my new favorite quote thus far)...i must've been laughing through the entire second half of trigun after reading that... _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

His name is Hayao Miyazaki.
And I agree, too. That one's my favorite. |

I believe Miyazaki said something like "To grow your audience, you must betray their expectations."
I dig the black and white cards, and hope Adult Swim brings the original Gundam uncut so I can see them actually COMPLETE a run on Cartoon Network... _________________ JKyle.com (Because bad things happen to good people)
