Dark Crystal anime

Well I would've been very skeptical of a puppet movie(an excellent one at that) into an animelike cartoon, the advent of Teen Titans stops from thinking this could absolutely dreadful. Looking back at the plot of Dark Crystal this project could turn into some thing like Escaflowne, so I'm pretty much psyched about this. But what do you guys think about this?

Im going to have to go back and rewatch Dark Crystal. Im sure whats in my head isnt the same as reality.

I saw Dark Crystal many times as a pre-teen and teenager. Really f-ed up movie. Part of what made it special was the Henson creations for it. So an anime wont be able to show that as much. But I do look forward to seeing what they can make with that storyline.

My stance on this is simple- the people who animate have got to set a new standard of anime to really impress the people who love the original Dark Crystal. Visually, the original movie is amazing- the Henson creations are what bring it to life- especially in the case of the villians. For a kid's movie, it has an unsettlingly dark plot that uses visual example to drive home the point of cosmic balance- yin & yang, day & night, good & evil. The creators have to take the pre-molded clay of the original movie and tweek it to make it their own, while not straying too far from the original look and feel so as to not lose the patrons of the old movie. Either that, or they have to shoot so far away from the look of the characters and interperate Dark Crystal in such a new fashion that the patrons will have to admire and think about their philosophy of the movie in a whole new way. Of course, they should strive to make it the best they can simply for the fact that there are those who have not seen Dark Crystal and would see the anime version without bias, but that goes for any anime remake of anything.

I think that remaking Dark Crystal into an anime is possible, but very, very difficult. Once more, the original was visually brilliant, and to take something of that beauty and try and recreat it in the style of anime while not losing the intergrity of the original feel will be hard.

Dark Crystal was an amazing movie and I loved every minute of it. I just recently saw it and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. This movie had a great adventure story behind it. Dark Crystal had even greater characters such as the Skeksis, Landstriders, Pod People, and Gelflings. I'm looking forwward to seeing this as an anime. I hope the anime is as good as the original. The original was incredible.
