Post subject: Whats your take
I was thinking on this over the past three days and decided to give it a try. The point of this is to say what your take of a given phrase is. An example would be "Friends may come and go, but enemies accumulate." 'My take on it is that friends can be made and lost. There are people who become friends and stop being friends all the time. Enemies on the other hand just keep accumulating to no end.' I'm wanting this to become some what of a serious thread. Others can submit phrases for people to give their thoughts on, I just want them to incur thinking. Any feedback on how I can improve this is accepted. If you want to do the example, go ahead and do it.
The first Phrase is "The dreams of the weak give drive to the strong." _________________ If I can only bypass the firewall, my research will continue better then before. |

It's backwards. The drive of the strong give dreams to the weak. For a perfect example, look at gambling. Very, very few people win, and most don't break even, and yet many new gamblers are convinced that they'll get rich quick. It's that whole "If he can do it, anyone can" philosophy. Success in any form will inspire idiots. _________________ Krogoth uses Berserk.

Gambling? I'm good at Blackjack. Its the only true game you can consistantly win at if you are good enough. |

For once, can we NOT fly off on a wild tangent? I'm kind of interested in what everyone else has to say. _________________ Krogoth uses Berserk.

uhhh, not if you're playing against the house - the house always has a slight advantage in blackjack; sorry about continuing to go off on this wild tangent |

Blackjack is the game were you have the highest odds against the house. Odds still favor the house, but barely. I'm not sorry for continuing on a tangent. Anyway... umm... I can't think of how to put what I think the saying means into words, so I shall just do charades until someone gets it right. _________________ "Veni. Vedi. Spooki." - Julius Caesar
