Post subject: Warning warning! Error error! Danger Will Robinson!

While using Firefox I keep getting an error message that reads:
Redirection limit for this URL exceeded. Unable to load the requested page. This may be caused by cookies that are blocked.
I get it pretty much randomly on the boards here, and it persists for about half an hour, then goes away for five minutes. When I tried using IE, the site just wouldn't load. I assume it's the same problem.
And before you ask, yes my compy is set to accept cookies. _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

I've noticed it as well.
It's spanking Safari, too. I e-mailed the error message I got to Tyler, it looks like the forums are trying to redirect to a (non-existant?) webpage named "www.toonamiinfolink.com/index.php" and gumming up the works. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Restarting httpd seemes to help last night, but that's not a real fix.
Dunno what breaks it (then gets fixed) though. _________________ My old sig was too long. |

I haven't had that problem with Firefox (on Toonami Arsenal). There have been sites where I've received that message, but they are few and far between.
Just for fun, type about:config in the Firefox address bar. Look for "network.http.redirection-limit" and change it to a really high value. I don't think it will actually help, but it should be interesting to try. Of course, you should also wait until the problem reappears as Tyler has temporarily fixed it (apparently). _________________ Able and Baker is nice. |

I got the same error on my Mozilla 1.7.5, but was still able to get to Infolink using IE. You made me use IE, I feel so dirty.
Anyway IE took a while to find the site, but was able to get there. Mozilla probably would as well, but it gives up too easily. Does changing that "network.http.redirection-limit" setting help?
As Nobuyuki mentioned, it looks like the web browser is stuck in a redirect loop. _________________ "Robots don't say 'ye'."

maybe try adding a thing to your .htaccess file that reroutes all the redirects through a logging thing so you can see what isn't found. That is if it isn't already recorded in your logs.
Then you may be able to determine what the bad link is. _________________ The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself? |

It happened to me again just a little bit ago. Both times now, its happened when I was flipping quickly through bookmarks. Also, when it did happen, I just closed the browser, restarted firefox, and it seemed to work. |
