Hi all. Nice to finally register here... I meant to do it long ago.

Anyway, I have a few questions about Toonami bgm's.
First, does anyone here remember where the "Deep" tune came from (it's rather rare)? I know I've heard it, but I just can't think of where... Tenchi maybe?

Secondly, is anyone aware of Toonami's relationship, currently, with Joe Boyd Vigil? Last I heard, they broke it off...

Lastly, is there anyone here who happens to like Toonami's music and would be willing to post about it Razz

Peace.

Dude. I love the Toonami Music, and quite a few people here do. I hope they haven't stopped with Joe, he was the best. And nope, I've never heard of that "Deep" song. I have all the MP3's avaliable at Toonami.com, and their CD, and I have no idea of that song. The Tenchi songs were "TensionRev" or the remixed "Tension".

And it's good that you registered and welcome to the board, we got another good poster! We're getting spoiled.

Hey, I found Joe! He's here if anyone cares. No sign of whether he's still with Toonami though...

I remember hearing "Deep" on the late Toonami Radio, but my stupid playlist was too stupid to update on my computer as the songs went by (it was really slow) and I never figured out which song it was. Evil or Very Mad Sad

EDIT: Holy crap, Corey! You found Joe Boyd Vigil! I've been looking for this guy forever. Thanks! You really are coo(o)l. Very Happy

ugh...Yahoo Groups... bleh Razz

Anywho, I will try to describe "Deep" to you, using text. This could get interesting...

Okay, "Deep", first off, is a widely (widely being more than two people -_-; ) distributed fan-made (i think) Toonami mp3... like "Strength" (DBZ intro 2002) or "Cricket" (Rising Sun ditty). Starts off with a few cords from a bass guitar, then a trumpet plays a note three times... the bass guitar plays it's cords throughout the whole song. A piano kicks in with a few elegant keystrokes... somewhere in there a drumline kicks in. Half way through, the trumpet gets some elaboration with a bouncy "abab a(a glide)b" set up... a pause, and the bass guitar and piano start us up again. Overall, has a bluesy hip-hop feel.

These (I assume fan-made) mp3's are an excellant idea, as some of the greatest Toonami ditties are unreleased by the website OR my man Joe. Ones that I want to see in the future are the Ronin Warriors 2000 theme (awesome), the TMR Tenchi and DBZ promo theme (similar to "Deep" with stronger trumpet), and the best of them all, the Cardcaptors theme... That one makes me all tingly inside :>

Sorry for rambling on like that. Gomen.

Look, they don't have any sites where you can download Anme Music. I'm sorry but very few people can aford the bandwith for such things. You'll have to just break down and get a damn file sharing program even though I don't know what you have against them....

"Strength" was fan-made?!? Wow! And I thought our good buddy Joe made it. Heh...

Anyway, do you know the name of the artist who made "Strength?"

Actually, I knew about that one. i was talking about one of the newer intros. Ah, now I remember, it was also Adult Swim Action music.

But, I still loved Arabic, except for the remixed Deep Space Bass version...

Wow, you learn somethin' new each day. It's cool how fans made some of the Toonami BGM. Some of that music really is cool. It's like a genre of it's own.

Heh, sorry bout that ^^; I was on vacation during the Independence Day week.

About Strength and Cricket, no, I do not know the artist for certain... While Joe made the ORIGINAL, the only digital versions of these two are, to my knowlege, well-made fan versions... I doubt toonami.com ever had them, for one.

I no longer have the original mp3's tho, I burned em' for my toonami mega-collection CD and just deleted them after that. If I wanted to burn my college money, I could set up a server and allow people to DL the wav's... But I don't. All I can say is, several weeks of daily searching on WinMX or Kazza should cause one or both to show up.

I really need to get around to writing William's Street about a new CD...
