Yeah, it did, didn't it. But it WASN'T. It's the only Chan movie that I suggest you do not see. All the rest are gold, at least to some degree. The Tuxedo was just unrealistic and had crappy stunts and JLH wasn't even that hot in it . . .

Yes, yes it does top Operation Condor. It does so easily.

not just easily - it so much better than Operation Condor; Legend of Drunken Master is just a much higher class of film

and yeah RLH, you like Amy Tan and you didn't know about the Joy Luck Club movie?! it came out in 93, huge critical hit, and very true to the book (I think that Amy Tan may have co-written the screenplay, but I can't remember)

and yeah FAK, The Princess Bride is magical - I know, I sound like Liv Tyler or Drew Barrymore by saying that, but I think out of the many different things that film is, magical is definitely one Smile

Exactly what I'm talking about.

"We've got your strength, his skill, and my brains against sixty men, and you think a little head jiggle is supposed to make me happy?"
"Give yourself a break: you've been mostly dead all day!"

But it was also serious at times:

"'To the pain' means that first you lose your feet below the ankles. Then your hands at the wrists; next your nose."
"And then my tongue. I suppose I killed you too quickly the last time, a mistake I don't mean to duplicate tonight!"
"I wasn't finished. Next you will lose your left eye, followed by your right."
"And then my ears. I understand. Let's get on with it!"
"WRONG! Your ears you keep, and I will tell you why: so that every shriek of every child at the sight of your hideousness will be yours to cherish. Every babe who weeps at your approach, every woman who cries out, 'dear god, what is that Thing,' will echo in your perfect ears. That is what 'to the pain' means. It means I leave you in anguish, wallowing in freakish misery forever."
. . . Just awesome!
