Fireworks + New Years + two other so-called "losers" (from what i can gather, New Years is not a good holiday for single males, anyone care to enlighten us?) + setting stuff up in front of friend's house where the only sound coming from the windows is a steady slapping sound = fun.

My 2004 Trigun and Garfield calendars have been replaced with 2005 InuYasha and Yu Yu Hakusho calendars.
Starting January 1st, my sales tax went from 8.05% to 8.25%

Happy Arbitrary Annular Rollover Day! I really can't get worked up about this, because it bears absolutely no significance other than "Well, today's as good a day to do it as any." As for Vegas' signature "coordinated fireworks display on the Strip", it was as washed-out bright, smoky, uncoordinated, and utterly unimpressive as it always is.
