Post subject: The Theory of Social Construction of Reality
So, ever since I came to college I've been exposed numerous times to this so called "Theory of Social Construction". Strangely enough, it fits so much of what I believed for the majority of my young life. I am curious as to what others think of it.
(For those of you who don't know, the Theory of Social Construction in a nutshell boils down to this: We construct our realities (prejudices, opinions, values, likes/dislikes) through social interaction and living in groups.)

yes... those are horrible, horrible bets...
anyway, I believe that the universe and reality as we know it is really just a construct created by my own mind, and that everything I observe and interact with is just a figment of my imagination. YEAH, YOU HEARD ME!! I am the only real person here, and the rest of you are only illusions created to keep me from realizing that this is all a simulated reality. And no, I'm not going on a Matrix kick. The fact that that movie even exists in my imagined reality just goes to show just how well my mind works at trying to distract me from the truth. By making me believe that the idea of multiple realities, virtual reality, parallel reality, etc etc., is really just science fiction only goes to prove how devious my subconscious really is at trying to make me believe in this fantasy. Hell, even the mixture of pleasure and pain is perfect enough for me to be fooled at times. BUT NO MORE!! No, I say it is time I finally face up to my reality, which is that the entire world does not exist, and that I am the one true being, a god-like individual that is the only truly sentient existance within this void. You are all my puppets and shall bow down before me and my might! MWAHAHAHAHAHA...

I think that this universe is all just a big lie, thats right our minds are just making this up, now i got no idea what the real universe is like but everything we think is real, is not. This reminds me of an episode of south park when the boys find out there's no Tooth Fairy, and Kyle doubts his own existance to the point where he becomes existance itself....which is a giant, Half Rooster, Half Squirell monster that has a basic understanding of algebra.
