Hi Toonami Aresnal,
I live on te Isle of Wight in England
I hav been watching cartoon betwork for 10 years now, and i love it so much. Anyway about 6 years ago there was an adevert for dragonball z on the TV , i started 2 watch it and though it was amazin , i now have hundreds of collectable , games , fugures , cards many more... When cartoon network got shows like Batman of the future , Tenchi Muyo , Gundam etc, they started up Toonami which was on every day a 5pm.
Smile
When there was to many programs on cartoon network , they set up CNX , a channel detecated to anime , kung-fu , real-life action movies etc.
This was not in the kids section though , as it was to violent at times.

This channel wasnt very popular , even yhough Dragonball Gt was fisrt aired on British Tv there. CN decided to changed CNX to Toonami once again, but the channel was still called CNX. This didnt improved Cnx lak of watchers. 1 reason was beacuse CN was in the kids section of channels
(channel 601) but CNX was on channel 244 , so people wernt watchin it.

CN decide 2 make a channel called Toonami on channel 621. Twenty channels away from CN . It was not posiibly 2 put Toonami near Cn because .... Shocked

CN was 601
CN+1 was 602
Boomerang (Old CN shows) was 603
Nikoldeon was 604
NIck Replay was 605

so they had 2 put it in the neaesrt avaible spot.

Toonami still runs today , with shows such as DB,DBZ, DBGT
pokemon, Megas XLR, ultmate Muscle , Teen titans, Samurai jack ,X-men evoultion, Justice League,Big O, he-man & TMOTU, etc.

You can check out the english Toonmai website.
www.toonami.co.uk

Very Happy Thanks for reading my story of Englands Toonami.

IF YOU EVER VIST ENGALND , YOU CAN WATCH TOONAMI ON Exclamation

No offence goten9, but why does UK get a separate chanel for toonami and a special chanel for anime and we are stuck with just regular CN?

They got Python and The Office. We got SNL (the new stuff) and Friends. It's nothing new.

Yeah, because, you know, it's as much goten9's fault that he gets a Toonami channel as it is the ability of Tyler to change things at Cartoon Network here in the States. So, you know, that makes it perfectly normal to blame goten9 for it, just like it is to yell at Tyler about our lack of good stuff here.

TYLER!!! WHY WONT YOU GIVE ME MOR DBZ!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111one.

PL34SE?!?!?!?!11...

By the wya goten9, why did we need to know about your cartoon situation? (At least half of us here read the news on this site and knew that you got different channels and whatnot. But my point is, what is the point of this thread?)

I'd classify it as an Intro/History Lesson. But still, welcome goten. Hope you have a nice stay, and we do have a few members over on your side, the most active of which is dillpops.

Second issue: As far as getting a Toonami Channel in the USA, you have to keep in mind that most of our cable systems have been, until lately, bandwidth-deficient. Meaning there isn't enough room on a majority of systems to add channels. And if we did get such a channel, it would probably be available as an add-on digital tier channel like Boomerang, which has had a hard enough time getting enough programming to air, nevermind getting cable companies and the satellite services to pick it up. Then we can take into account the actual demand for a Toonami-only channel, and whether such a channel could be commercially viable in the first place.

It's not as simple as flipping a switch and saying, "Ta-Dah! Toonami Channel is on the air!" As an example, I'd point to ADV's The Anime Network and their struggle to get carriers for the 24/7 feed, which as of right now is only available on two systems in Ohio and no satellite service.

Hm, thats strange. I right now have family cable, and there are blank chanels even in the begining. I know that all the other chanels that I don't have are after the ones that I do have. Maybe I don't understand you, but I think that Cable has a lot of blank chanels to fill in.

Your particular system might, but I'm speaking in generalities here.

Just because you have blank channels doesn't mean that there's enough room in the spectrum to allow the company to fill them. As cable systems are upgraded to all-digital over the next few years (which won't be a priority until after HDTV is mandated) then there should be enough room in the wires (or fiber) to fit, if they aren't cramming it full of broadband internet and telephone services ( Rolling Eyes ).

Nobuyuki's right.

They can cram at least 12 digital channels into the space 1 analog channel takes up.

Oh, now I understand. You mean they don't have enough space for info to get through to our TVs, right?

Exactly.
Every cable company is different, and a majority of the systems are still using outdated equipment that can't handle all these new features. The rate of modernization is dependent on the size of each system's subscriber base and how much those customers are willing to pay for it. The smaller the subscriber base, the higher the modernization cost passed on to each subscriber.
