Just because he liked the old voices doesn't mean the same for the edits.
Heck, I preferred the Ocean VAs over the FUNi cast, but I agree that most of the edits and script changes were stupid and unnecessary.

Tyrant, just to let you know, they have the outlaw star boxed set available for around $50. Compared to the prices of other collections of the same length, it's really a bargain.
