Ok this psuedo-news may only apply to me and Slim...
I consider Legend of Dragoon to be one of the best RPG's of all time, although 99% of the gaming population has never heard of it. I've been begging for a sequel, but there is no news of that anytime soon. However, I find these 2 links...
I'm thinking these 2 sites have gotten their information screwed up, but I guess i'll just have to wait until next week to find out the truth. _________________ There is limited intelligence in the galaxy, but the stupidity of the universe is infinite.

heh, after watching the flash intro to the site, I think I'm going to throw up. Its another PC being branded and sold as a console. This company advertises the consoles strong points which are:
1. "Imagine a console so powerful it allows an unlimted amount of game choices at your finger tips." -well yeah, then they quickly add the side note of subscribing for the games, which I guess you stream cause I don't see a loading bay for CD's.
2. "Pay-Per-Play" -I think this was purposed by a company years ago. Who really wants to pay a fee to play a game when you can rent it for less, for at least a week and you can hit reset without being charged again.
3. "Play with PC gamers and other 'Phantom' gamers in online 'tournements'" -This is nothing new. They need to get with it.
4. "Upgrade system requirements and patches" -You do that with PC's already, and thats a downside to PC's... not an Upside.
5. "Imagine a system so intuitive, young children can access it independtly while parents can rest easy, knowing there young ones are only playing age appropriate games." -O.o OMG! Its AOL for the console! HAHAHAHA I give it 2 days before a crack is produced and the "kiddoes" are playing BMX xxx.
Man... this is sick. ALL OF THEIR UPSIDES ARE AVAILABLE ALREADY! They're preying on the ignorant masses in the same fashion as Gateway: You shell out money for a PC that will meet all your needs and in the end you always get screwed.
Before I finish my review of this system though, I figured that I should at least read the rest of the web site and not just Bitch about the crappy flash intro.
The indepth section only describes the system as the "first broadband game console." This can mean two things: 1. they claim it to be the first console to use Broadband. This is false since the Xbox is a broadband only console. 2. "broadband game console" means you have to download everything or stream it. This seems to prove my theory that you have to subscribe and pay a fee just to use the damn thing.
Hey, I was right. Straight off of the Consumer Benefits page:
-The opportunity to demo games before purchasing or subscribing
But then again, it then states on the game selection page:
-Monthly Subscriptions, Game Rentals, Individual Game Sales, Games on Demand, Peripheral Sales, Publisher Channels and Multi-Player Events. Consumers control their game play with the Phantom!
I can't seem to find any technical stats as to whether or not it does have a loading bay. I understand their idea to have a system that is universal but I really have a bad feeling about this after viewing its current profile.

Who will develop games for a totally online streamed game console?
what happens when said company goes out of business and their is no one to stream from? Remember the Divx DVD players? you can't play those DVDs without a connection to the office... now that its outta business...

Its a hoax plain and simple. No actual shots of the console, no real press release, no reports or aknowledgements from any reputable gaming sources.
