Sorry you're confused reaper. Toonami aired 2/3rds of the Kenshin TV series. There are 95 episodes total and the last one aired was 62. Following the Shishio/Kyoto arc was a third arc, known as the Tokyo Arc I think, that did not air. Like CP said, most fans did not like the new approach to the story and the animation so it was not renewed.

If you want to make sure you see everything go buy the last boxset. Don't forget the two OVAs as well, Trust&Betrayal and Reflection. Samurai X is the only real movie.

You mean that that the guy in the bandages (from extremely serious burns) being barely defeated by Kenshin, wasn't the last episode.

p.s. not being a smart@ss but own Samurai X OVA's and they're frickin awesome.

Reread zech's post, if you can't find the answer to your question, you don't deserve to be here.

I was only confirming because it didn't seem like they could carry it on any further since they set up the shishio fight like it would be the end of the series. There's no need to be hostile buddy.

Odd that I'd jump in late on a Kenshin discussion, but just to clarify, the TV series has three arcs:

"Wandering Samurai" (episodes 1-27) aired on Toonami except for one episode that dealt with a corrupt monk, which though I saw as harmless, was most likely banned due to questionable religious content. These were the quick stories that mostly took up one or two episodes apiece.

"Legend Of Kyoto" (episodes 28-62) aired mostly on SVES and was the entire Shishio saga, from Saito's appearance all the way to the group's return to Tokyo.

"Tales Of The Meiji" (episodes 63-95) was never aired on Cartoon Network. This arc attempted to go back to the 'episodic' feel of the first set of episodes, but would soon lean more toward stories that carried over 4-6 episodes. These were written by the television staff and weren't in the manga.

Oh, and reaper, you are correct that nothing with the "Samurai X" label has aired on Cartoon Network. This includes "Trust", "Betrayal", "The Motion Picture", "Reflection", and whatever "Director's Cuts" ADV has released of them.

Hope this helps!

Yeah thanks that does help. At least now my confusion that there were more episodes makes sense because the manga had obviously wanted to end at shishio which is probably another reason why they didn't air it because it would make about as much sense as Dragonball GT.

p.s. any who replies to this should probably start a new topic about it because of it being yu yu hakusho.

Actually, the manga doesn't end at the Kyoto arc. There is a third story arc, called the Jinchuu (Revenge) arc, which deals with Kenshin's past finally catching up to him. The OVAs are based on that storyline.

Hell with that. At this board, we go wherever the discussion takes us. More fun that way.

Exactly.

Remember Megas XLR? I miss it and I hate CN for making it go away.

No. CN only aired the first season. There was a second season that they never aired (mainly because they overplayed the first season and the ratings dropped over time).

So does that mean they're not showing it at all?! I missed the Dark Tuortameant, and I've seen a few of the second season episodes on DVD, and I'm hopeing it come back on soon.

Have patience, Kitty. Yu Yu Hakusho might be back in a few months(remember the long gap between the beginning and conclusion of the Dark Tournament on Toonami?). I'd say around October(this is only speculation). If all else fails, wait a year or so for the YYH box sets from Funimation to drop in price.
