So, have any of you been catching the JLU episodes? I seem to remember alot of peoples disbelief when I first reported the fact it was going to happen, so I'm just curious about it now that it has.

I see Unlimited as a step downward from the original JL series. I've tried to find myself impressed with this new series, but it, for the most part, fails to do so.

First off, half-hour episodes just don't cut it. When they were an hour long (or the occasional 1½ hour special movies), we could get more in-depth with the story. Now that it's only 30 minutes, they show us the bad guy attacking and the League quickly fights him off, turning what once was a deep series into just another generic action show. *yawn*

The second thing to point out is the music. As many fans have pointed out at other message boards, the music is grating to the ears. Let's face it; the music for Justice League Unlimited plain out SUCKS. It's the most irritating soundtrack I've ever heard. It's so bad, it makes "Step Into Tha Grand Tour" seem worthy of a Grammy. Hell, I'd prefer that over JLU's music any day.

Finally, there's not enough heroes. In the original JL series, they could show the entire League fighting in one episode...at least 5 heroes, if any are absent. In the new series, they only have 3 star heroes fighting at most, with a bunch of other members getting limited coverage, and J'Onn is relaxing with a pop at the control stand. Heck, even last week's episode just had one loner "hero." Now, if the League has expanded to at least 60 heroes, don't you think it would be wise to show more heroes before the series is over? At this pace they're going (introducing one new hero once every 3 episodes with a Supergirl/Green Arrow team-up while showing a few Batman/Wonder Woman relationship episodes in-between), I doubt they'll be able to show the full potential of all the new League's heroes in time.

The Justice League has unlimited members, but limited appeal.

I must agree with most of what Daikun said.

You'd think they would have more than enough people to send on a mission. Who cares if it would be overkill, at least they'd get the job done.

And now they rely on their transporter, bah.
Everyone knows it's the Javelin that impresses the ladies.

I miss Hawk Girl. Sad

I actually find the new series far superior to the original. The new characters kick ass on the main Justice League (except GL, but Jon Stewart SUCKS as GL). The Question was great (even the episode's title, Fearful Symmetry, which was taken from the title of an issue of Watchmen focusing on Rorshach, who was in turn based on The Question...plus an episode based on a Superman story by Alan Moore, who wrote Watchmen), especially for a character who I had only seen before in Dark Knight Strikes Again...it was awesome to see Booster Gold (albeit without Blue Beetle), and I even got chills when I not only saw Elongated Man, but a female hero called Dr. Light (read Identity Crisis to see why). Granted, the thinly veiled anti-war propaganda of "Hawk and Dove" wasn't made any better by the fact that the episode starred, well, Hawk and Dove...but so far I've absolutely loved what I've seen. It's also refreshing to see a show that, in many instances, pushes the envelope of what they can show on CN, as opposed to shows that overregulate themselves "just in case," such as DragonBall Z. Great show overall.
