You pick any out of the...many. I have to pick Monsters Inc. The movie was fully detailed even down to the shirt movement of the young girl. They also had to create a new program for Sulley( or Skulley, I don't know) to fix the hair movement. You go and pick! |

Ahh, CGI, something I know about!
First off, for EVERY major CGI film that's been made, they've had to write new programs because they always go into unchartered territory. The movies really keep getting better and better because of this. It's like a competition to see who can make the shiniest and newest effects. One of the main reasons I love CGI.
I'm gonna go with Shrek as my favorite. The water and fire effects were liquid gold pouring into my eyes. Plus it was funny. Very funny.
As for best cel shading (cel shading being a type of CGI) I'm deffinitly going with Spirited Away. The plot made no sense but it repeatedly amazed the crap out of me. _________________ anime is teh s uck

Best story I'd say Ice Age
Best Comedy I'd say Shrek
Best Overall graphical achievment I'd say Monsters Inc.
Best 2d-3d integration I'd say Tarzan with the possibility of Treasure Planet
oh wait, that's nearly all of them _________________ "Veni. Vedi. Spooki." - Julius Caesar

Has everyone forgotten that Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, was 3D! So technically anything with 3D is animated so don't start saying that FF: TSW isn't animated! (Now I sound like a newb) |

I think the adjective "Best" is what excludes FF:TSW from this list. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

hahaha it sure does. though it it's biggest lack is in story not cg. it did have equisite cg, it just needed a bit of tweaking to make the characters move more naturally. Let me rephrase equisite cd to equisite modeling. _________________ "Veni. Vedi. Spooki." - Julius Caesar

i think FF dominated in the graphics part, but i think shrek and Monsters inc. were the best. Oh, and the CGed parts in spiderman are cool. |

those commercials actually have some really great graphics. I thought they were making a movie at first or something, because you don't just see some awesome CGing on a comemrcial for some toys. lol |

I still think those models are being used for a top secret cartoon show. _________________ "Veni. Vedi. Spooki." - Julius Caesar

I'm going to have to vote for Shrek, mostly because of the realistic physics and awesome fluids engine.
And I absolutely hate the CG in Spiderman, because it has very, very little basis on reality. In a gravity field, ballistic projectiles (ie people jumping) move along parabolae, not hyperbolae. We decided that, due to the unrealistic gravity, it must take place in Hollywood. |
