No confirmation yet on whether Genndy Tartakovsky has jumped ship from Cartoon
Network to Lucasfilm, but another major departure from Cartoon Network which
can be confirmed is that of Linda Simensky. She had been with the cable outlet
since 1995 and was CN's senior vice-president of original animation when she
left her post in early October. AWN.com originally broke the news of her
departure and has been following the story since then. |

As of this past Monday, Simensky officially assumed the position of senior
director of children's programming at PBS where she will manage the PBS Kids
programming block. Linda has long been one of animation's most artist-friendly
executives and her departure from Cartoon Network is significant news. The
network has been following an ominous path during the past year, evidenced by
various executive shake-ups and programming changes, and their loss of Simensky
seems to be another indication of which direction the network is headed towards. |
