'Ba' would be a different character altogether. It'd be the 'ha' character with the little circle in the upper-right.
Thank god I'm finally starting to learn Japanesse... |
close...'pa' would be 'ha' with the circle, 'ba' would be 'ha' with the quotation marks...
hopefully you go further with the language than i did...i stopped after learning hirigana/katakana, so while i can pronounce a few written words, i rarely know what it is i'm saying... =) _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

You claim to be learning enough Japanese, and you still need the chart? For shame. Play more Fire Emblem.
I'm still unable to read Hiragana, mostly due to a few very similar characters. Nuance was never my strong suit. _________________ Krogoth uses Berserk.

Bono speaking through IXidor's computer: strangely enough, those associations make it easier for me. Take, example the difference between ki and sa. I wouldn't have either committed to memory if it weren't for my brain subconsciously noting the differences. Same goes for i and ri. Although a is of coures the easiest kanji for me. Oh, and I know ka very well because I keep writing shikari all over any assignments I turn in. |

bah, if you think those are bad, you should try Hiragana. nu, ne, me, and re are very similar. I constantly mess those up, can't get the brain to look at the difference in the curlicues. Really, though, you should play untranslated games and try to sound out the names. 95% of the time they're in Kata. _________________ Krogoth uses Berserk.

Heh, I just got the first DVD in the mail last week. After seeing a screening of ep. 3 at Metrocon I was hooked. Luci Christian(Yukari) Monica Rial(Nyamo) did the commentary during the screening and mentioned that it seemed weird that the two of them were so close even though Yukari treated Nyamo like a slave and said they got the feeling that Nyamo might have feelings for Yukari and that might be a reason she's still single *hint hint*. _________________ Bang. |

Hey, I was just wondering if anybody has seen Azumanga Daioh. I absolutely love the show. I was just curious because nobody else I know has seen it...
For those of you who haven't seen it or heard about it, its a "slice of life" comedy sorta thing about a group of high school girls. Its hilarious.
Geez, I haven't been here for a while... |

Let me quote that for you all again.

Did you catch the important part?
That's right, yusuke_fan used a piece of punctuation.
Now if only we could get her to use the rest, use that one consistantly, capitialize appropriate letters, and use grammar, we'd have a real coherent person on our hands. _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

hmm...i guess nobu was just seeing things again... =)
and yusuke_fan, don't think john's singling you out exclusively...he's very much an "equal-opportunity hazer" when it comes to newer members, and i believe he gave me the same treatment back when i joined too, though i was just too stubborn to change...
as long as we can understand you, you'll be fine... _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

But when you refuse to use capitalization and punctuation, at least you're sentences are organized well enough so that we can still understand you... usually. _________________ This space left intentionally blank.
