Yup--about the same thing here. I liked the free time to read and play video games, but that was it. And the teachers that I was smarter than didn't like me (hell, I wouldn't like some seventh grader that was smarter than me if he had an attitude about it--and I did).

Lucky b@stard. If anyone accepts me when I apply next year... The thought of going to a second rate school(SUch as Eastern Washington, Idaho, anything in Montana, and a half-arse Junior college).... AAARRGHH!
x_x

Anyway, I go to a school where about 90% of the students are white, 80% are prep/jock/punk/idiot, and another 15% are simply unintelligent. Which leaves 5% of us who have the ability to figure out where Afghanistan or even D.C. are in less then 5 seconds, the merits of the GeForce4, what kind of die to roll for character creaton, the latest strategies for RTS's, debate which animes are worth seeing, and what we should do the night we see LotR, Star Wars, Bond, or the latest military thriller.

Not easy with the b@stards around us. (Ironic how so many of them actually make it into college)

On the plus side, most of the teachers are well liked, and some even host LAN Parties at their houses.

But back to the bad stuff, most of which is probably quite common, just multiplied by two here... Sporting events are considered the greatest thing since the advent of modern music, clubs such as the "Future Business Leaders of America" or the god-awful cheerleaders and dance team receive more money then the Science Fiction Club, pointless events including "blind date auctions"and spirit days, and the complete lack of understanding for other cultures...

This sounds familier.

School is hell for almost everyone, anywhere. The system is flawed. Bring it down, and put up a better one.

)yay, thanksgiving break! *sigh*, everyone has said how much they hate middle school, and that's what i am in right now (is anyone else in middle school, i seem so young). I HATE middle school (grades 6-8 ) I am in eigth grade right now. 7th grade was the worst year of my life, for i had two groups of friends, and one of them hated the other group... and i was stuck right in the middle, but that's over. 8th grade is bad, but better than the other two years, probably becasue i had my english teacher for 4th grade too, and my math teacher from 6th grade too, and i'm smarter than half my teachers too, (ESPECIALLY my computer Graphics teacher, Laughing

Wow, you people had such traumatic experiences in middle school. I didn't think it was that bad. I grew up a lot. Seriously, I just sorta flew below the radar, and grew up. You people seem to have had a lot of trouble though.

I never really had any social problems during middle school. I did, however, have grade problems. I think this is the time where I lost the oh-so-subtle connection between grades and intelligence. I still don't know why people place such high importance on them. Oh, well.

I did nothing in middle school, not a damn thing.

Our school is the same way when it comes to sports here is a little break down of the school budget
Football-$145,000
Track-$135,000
Basketball-$78,000
Tennis-$32,000
Cheerleading-$7,600
Music Department-$3,100
Art-$1,950
Now look at that shit, Football, a sport which doesn't have a real shitload of disposable items (the occasional ball and small pieces of equipment, players buy their own gear) has about 140 times the budget of art, which uses up most of their supplies over the course of a year and has six different classes, music has a Steinway Grand Piano but it's 75 years old and was donated, we have music in our storage rooms from 1913 and older ( I found a copy of a folk song from 1887, that'solder than our damn state).
Sports officially pisses me off for one reason though, every trip that a sports team takes they use a fucking coach bus, considering a coach can only carry a bout 35-40 people they have to use two of them and a trip using one bus for 2 hours that went 100 miles cost 1,100 dollars they're burinigna buttload of money with their fucking buses, if each group would have used yellows for one year they could have bought a damn coach bus for them selves and had it stored for a small ass fee at the bus depot, the school could have had three buses by now and that would have meant they could have saved money but hell no, thwey're going to burn money like it's going out of style. To make matters worse our retarded school district is building a new school, the damn school is being built on fllod zone and only an 1/8 of a mile away is a damn river and a sewage treatment plant, they choose this spot instead of a spot near the indsutrial park because airplnes fly over that area, goddamn B-52H's fly over my house on low runs of 5,000 feet and they don't sqwuak about that one.

My school is three stories of dumbasses with a few shinging examples of the human race wandering the halls.

Hey it's even worse here specially when your school wins the godforsaken state Football championship. Now the number one focus of the school is winning again. While the art programs get shut down one by one and every band and orchestra student has to pay more than 100$ every year for rentals, and repairs. We have to do fundrasing 4 times year just to break even and be able to buy new music. We only get to take a bus once a year for Districts. If it wasn't for the bill they passes last year we would have had to cut out art all together which they did back in '95.
