While whatching Cyborg 009 today a question hit me, whats the difference between an android and a cyborg? So, I set out on a quest to an online dictionary and this is what I found....
(definitions from Dictionary.com, I got rid of most of the other junk, like how to pronouce the word)
Cyborg
n. A human who has certain physiological processes aided or controlled by mechanical or electronic devices. [cyb(ernetic) + org(anism).]
Android
n. A machine or automaton in the form of a human being.
Well this proves that the cyborgs from Cyborg 009 are infact cyborgs, wich was what I thought, but does this mean that the androids from Dragonball Z are cyborgs because Krillin had said that they were originally human and that was how he had a child with Android 18 but then she would have to be a cyborg. just thought I would point that out.not that anyone cares. ...On a completely different note did anyone notice that when Tom sais something like "Cyborg 009 is almost up Yu Yu's comming up next" they show Yu Yu animation but in the backround they play Kenshin audio.
I know, I know I got to much free time but i had to point this out I doubt I'll even get a response but I had to do it. _________________ Anytime anything bad ever happens to you and you wonder why it's because you suck.

Cyborg starts out human. Android starts out machine. Anything else added in or taken out afterwards doesn't change it. _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

In Dragonball Z, #17 and #18 started out as humans and they're referred to as androids.

Android fits the lip flap better. Yes, they are cyborgs, they're just not called that. And the first batch (which were robotic through and through) were androids, so that might also be a factor in thier misnaming. _________________ This space left intentionally blank.
