Hey there fellow Toonami fans. I'm new here, as you can see. I'm a big fan of Old School Toonami - as I'm sure many of you are. Absolution is of course the name of the ship, so that really doesn't need introduction. Otherwise, I'm a big fan of animation and Toonami is what got me started. I miss it a lot, so I'm trying to collect the DVD's. But enough babbling about myself, I brought gifts!
The real point of this post is that I found something lurking on the web in an old skeleton of a Cartoon Network site filled with broken links and information about Toonami back when Tom 2.0 was in charge. On it, I found a few inconsequential background images that you can find on any wallpaper site, although one of them was of the Absolution herself, an image I can't seem to locate elsewhere. If anyone wants it I can upload it.
But the real treasure I found on this ghost town of a website was 5 mp3 files, 5 techno-glitch tracks that were used in old school Toonami bumpers and intros. I can't find these tracks anywhere else, and definitely not on BHM or Deep Space Bass. The tracks' encoding is a little iffy, making them seem a tad scratchy, but nothing significant.
I only recognize one of the tracks but I can't seem to put my finger on where it was used... but it's one of my favorites.
The tracks are as follows:
PC RUNNER
PC SPY
PC TRANSMISSION
SCRATCH MY BACK
SPECTRE
PC TRANSMISSION is the one I recognize, so if you guys could tell me where it's from that'd be great. Spectre is somewhat recognizable, but it cuts out big time for seconds at a time, I'm not sure what that's about. It just kind of repeats itself three times after long pauses.
Please tell me if this has been uploaded before - I can't seem to find it on the Arsenal main site, and I definitely can't find it anywhere else. I tried downloading from the Cartoon Network ghost website from a PC, and the zip file was corrupted and unusable, but oddly enough if you download to OSX, it's just fine - you simply need to get Stuffit. However, I've taken the guesswork out of it and uploaded a singular Zip file to my favorite file hosting website, mediafire.
If the link gets broken, tell me, I'll re upload. Again, please tell me if you've all seen this stuff before.
Might I suggest posting this valuable info at toonamifan.com? You may or may not know, absolution, but things have been sluggish, to say the least, around here for quite a while. I think you'd have a much better chance at a response and feedback over there, plus, there's lost of Toonami music knowledge on the site. I'm not trying to drive you away, it's actually good to see new members around the Infolink once in a blue moon that aren't spammers. Happy hunting, and I hope to see you at Toonamifan. _________________ "Never confuse being lazy with being apathetic. Lazy people are not apathetic. Apathetic people don't care about anything.
