Reasons why Furbies aren't a threat:

1: They burn up in a flash. Gnomes take long exposure to heat and direct flame to achieve the same effect.

2: They aren't buoyant. Gnomes can float for great distances.

3: They require batteries. Gnomes are powered by Pepito's will.
