Well, turns out that Bleach = Yu Yu Hakusho with a little bit of Cloud (from FFVII) thrown in for good measure.

Something I'd watch till the end? Absolutely. Something that's super new and different and above everything else? Not at all.

Kinda funny, really. I could NOT stup thinking of Yu Yu Hakusho throughout the entire episode.

Wow, full original intro and ending, no cuts, and a damn good dub. Go Viz!

I must admit the dub is pretty decent.

While I haven't seent he whole ep yet, as I had just returned from a retreat (thankfully my VCR saw it all), I must say it looks amusing. I do second the Yu Yu Hakusho similarities. The voices worked very well. I haven't seen the fan-subs, but I this is good enough I don't care. Woot good dubs!

You weren't the only one thinking of Yu Yu Hokosho. I was thinking the same thing while i was watching it. And I'm with you. I'm committed to watching it through to the end. Not sure why. Its not original but I don't care.

Trinity Blood also felt a LOT like Helsing, to me.

So basically, as near as I can tell, the New Stuff on AS = a copy of Yu Yu Hakusho with swords, a copy of Helsing, and a show that bores the crap out of me (I just cannot get into Eureka 7).

I wouldn't mind, but Yu Yu Hakusho and Bleach BOTH came from Shonen Jump, if I'm not mistaken.

Only Hellsing? It felt more like a mix of Trigun and Hellsing to me.

With the look of the main character and the colorful intro, I thought I was watching GTO for a minute...

That said, I echo what's been mentioned. The show doesn't look like anything original, but should still be enjoyable, so I'll stick with it for now...

Hrm, yeah, that too. But while the main character reminded me of Vash, the whole premise and style felt more akin to Helsing. Which I never actaully finished . . .

My friends recommended it to me, but since I never buy anime or read manga (Still a gamer till the end, money is better spent on the latest hit), I decided to wait till the dub. Funny thing, every one of them also gets pissed when dubs come around, no matter how good.

I havn't seen ep. 1 but I have seen 2 and 3, and I have to say, definately not what my friends hyped it up to be. The animation is on par, nothing too spectacular, and it just felt like most stories I've seen. Boy meets person, person reveals secret power, boy is reluctant, boy finally accepts. But hey, only three episodes in, I'll save the final verdict for ten.

mmm... imho the show really takes off here, wasnt a big fan of bleach until they went to Soul Society... but now im curious as to how theyre gonna handle the voices of 30 new characters. so far its been ok but i hope they dont recycle voice actors.

I love Bleach because it's a show I feel that's different from the rest. The references to the afterlife and spirits do remind me of Yu Yu Hakusho but it has it's own style. A good show always has it's own style. An example of this would be the Soul Reapers. Some would say there are some similarities to Spirit Detectives but I'd say each has something that draws you to the show in general.
I keep watching to see what happens and something interesting always happens. I love the swords, the characters, and the comedy. Hands down besides Eureka 7 it's one of the best shows on AS.

It took me a while but I've really gotten into Bleach. It may be about a boy who fights demons (making it anime #47 based on this) but they do it in a interesting way. I've also started reading the manga a little bit ahead of the show and I have to say it's going to get very interesting soon.

I can't wait until the new episodes start on March 1st. I know there's going to be alot of bloodshed during Rukia's execution.
