for those that may have forgotten, toonami launched it's five part "microseries", immortal grand prix yesterday, which is supposed to continue throughout the week into the finale on friday...
while class prevented me from watching the first part until i got to my tape last night, i must say that i'm impressed with what i'm seeing thus far...the animation looked spot-on and they definitely appear to be using some renowned voice talents, and while the limited time does put a strain on the plot, it appears to be shaping up nicely overall...
i attempted to try the game out on their website, but as expected for me, my computer froze up...from what i'm hearing, it's supposed to be a turn-based strategy game, so i hope to get it working for at least one round...
anyone have any comments on the game or anime, or the speculation going around that this could develop into an actual series? _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

All I have to say is that (and this is based on the information provided from the interview that Tyler posted a link to on the TI main page a week ago) it's a SUPER sad world when last year's TIE cost more to make than this years. Yesterday, man, that was some top of hte line animation, even with some super cool computer effects and crisp hand drawn characters. I'm digging it. Last years TIE, Trapped in Crapperspace, was, well, crap. In every way. Plot, animation, everything. I wish they could do something like The Intruder again. But at least they got their quality back up. And it LOOKs like it cost a lot more than TiH. _________________ anime is teh s uck

Well if you missed it (like me) you'll be glad to know the episodes are on Toonami.com
This is a really good move. I don't care how the plot ends up or what. It's a huge improvement over the previous two TIEs. _________________ Bang.

You need Realplayer. Why do they insist on using Realplayer for everything?

They probably don't want many people watching it. My Laptop has RealOne preinstalled, but the school filter blocks Toonami.com. -_-; _________________ "I hope you haven't become too attached to your head, because in about two seconds it will be festively decorating that back wall."

Probably because of you.
It's a wonder they haven't filtered out TIL yet. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

Because if they used QuickTime or Windows Media, then you could save the video to your hard drive.
They use Real Player to make you stream the video, and to protect against unauthorized copying.
This really sucks because streaming is laggy and you can't save it to your computer.
Unless there's something I don't know about that does let you save the stream. Anyone? _________________ "Robots don't say 'ye'."

My school filters out TDA.
but as for realplayer it's because Real has the best streaming media out there. Even though some of you may say that window's new asx is better quality many computers can't handle it. _________________ Bang.

I must say IGPX does look like a very good show. However, some of the dubbing isn't that good. *cough* First line of episode 1 *cough*
Also the game, if somewhat slow, is a turn based strategy game which is impossible without codes, much like Trapped in Hyperspace or Lcokdown _________________ The only truth that realy exists is the truth within the mind of the individual and the way the individual sees the world...

I've only been caught once on TIL, and the other three times wern't even related to Toonami.
What school do you go to, Zechs?
Side note: There is an Airport near my house that has no filters at all. _________________ "I hope you haven't become too attached to your head, because in about two seconds it will be festively decorating that back wall."

quick comments on episode two:
i've just about fallen in love with the art style they're using, as it has that beautiful, crisp quality to it...we get the necessary character interaction as we bridge the gap to the actual competition...i'm expecting good things tonight...
how do the codes work with the game this year? from what they air after the episode, it looks like you get pilots rather than power-ups...my louzy computer's still not letting me try it out, so i might have to give it a shot at the college tonight... _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

If that were the case, then why don't they tell TDA to not let people download the episodes?

TDA doesn't copy the episodes off toonami.com
With the unholy power of TiVo and Pepito the episodes are made from the ones aired on TV.
You can record stuff off TV. As long as you don't sell it, then there's not much they can do. _________________ "Robots don't say 'ye'."
