I know this probably belongs on the game thread, but I didnt want it to get over looked.
OK, I just got the C&C Genderals game for my PC a few days ago. I instulled everything just right, but when I went to play the game, it crashed everytime it would load a mission. So I thought it was the game so I took it back, got another one, instulled it and it did the samething.
So I started doing sytem checks and etc. I noticed the system requirments for the game and the memory requirment was 128, and I only had 126. But shouldnt that make slow the game down a little.
Iv tried calling Westwood Tech Support, but they are closed like EVERy TIME Iv called(that was durning their posted hours) So they suck and are no help, so manybe someone out there can tell me what the problem is. If its not the lack of memory I mean.

Generals is very hard on the comp. I also have it, and it drains my comp like mad. The new graphics and all are great though. From what I've seen of the game, for you it might be the lack of memory.

Some advice:

GeForce 4 Ti

This one is currently $76.00. It's on ebay, so the price will probably go up, but you can find them pretty cheap if you look hard enough. Thankfully the prices for these have come down considerably in order to make way for Nvidia's GeForce FX (which you don't need to worry about, your computer cannot take full advantage of it, and there's no reason to spend $300 on one). Also, if you can, stray away from the GeForce MX, it is basically a souped up GeForce 2 and it costs the same as that GeForce 4 on ebay. GeForce 4 is the way to go if you need a much better than decent video card without spending the top of the line price. With this you should have no trouble playing Command and Conquer, or any of the new graphic intensive games like Unreal 2K3. You might not be able to turn all of the graphical eye candy on, but it should improve your system's performance considerably. Of course this is all assuming you have an AGP slot...

Ah the joys of PC gaming.

Don't forget to patch the game after you install it, but before you run it.

Generals is up to v1.05

UT2003 is up to v2225 (this patch is good because you don't need the CD anymore when you run the game.)

Yea, I went by Circit City the other day and the guy tried to fast talk me into getting one of those $300++ ones, and Im like I dont need this
THe only thing I need is for something ot supply me with 16MB of memory and I should be good to go.
Can the GeForce 4 Ti do that??? I already have 4 MB of memory on my computer

16 MB won't do jack crap in two years. I think the Ti comes with a minimum of 32, which you should be ok with, but I'm planning on getting the 64 Meg.

ahem...
After PAYING for a video game and a video card, returning them will not make you "richer".
You would (ideally) break even.
