X TV

X is another CLAMP (CardCaptor Sakura, Angelic Layer, Chobits) series animated by studio Madhouse. There's the manga (still ongoing at the time of this writing), the movie, the OAV, and the TV series. The OAV is basically an episode long preview for the TV series and is included on the first DVD as Episode 0.

The story: The Earth is getting used up by humans, so a decision must be made: wipe humanity from the planet so the Earth can start anew, or leave things as they are in hopes that humanity will learn to take care of the planet. The Dragons of Heaven, a.k.a. The Seven Seals, are the "keep things the way they are group/faction. The Dragons of Earth, a.k.a. the Seven Angels, are the "erase humanity and start anew" group/faction. And no, they're not real dragons, they're human.

The choice falls on our protagonist Kamui. He can choose to become a Dragon of Heaven or a Dragon of Earth. He will determine humanity's fate. Now it's not a simple decision, and without spoiling anything I'll just say that Kamui is screwed no matter which side he chooses because people he cares about will get caught in the battle between the Dragons of Heaven and the Dragons of Earth.

The series has all the essential CLAMPness, complete with lots of falling feathers and excellent music for the standard CLAMP fan, and enough action and story for a viewer's first CLAMP series. Be sure to watch the TV series before the movie because the movie just tries to cram all the events of the TV series into 90 minutes. Another thing I like about the TV series is the English dub cast. They do an outstanding job.

All in all, the series has good character development, but might seem slow at times and they like to play the series main theme "Destiny" often, but other than that, I highly recommend it.

My Score:

Note that this chrono uk replica watches reads like a dashboard. Thus, on the grey dial stand blue counters in which Replica watch contrast the red and white of the needles, indexes, and timers. And to distinguish patek philippe replica more easily the main counter at noon, the latter was encircled by a mirror polished aliasing. Note that the dial leaves "dive in the engine", look through the wide opening which allows to observe the operation.

They like to talk about "destiny" a lot in this show, too. ;-)
But considering that's what the entire series is about, it's to be expected.
Excellent review, Beefy. If you have a chance to see Tokyo Babylon, there's a segment covering the personal history of one of the minor characters in X. But don't go out of your way to buy it unless your inner CLAMP fan compels you.
