Toonami Moves to Saturday, Changes Focus

April 17th 2004 Toonami moves to Saturday Nights, 7 PM to Midnight, exclusively. SVES is dead, Toonami weekdays is dead, but there is more to the story.
Toonami is changing its focus to target teens, while the weekday Toonami slot will be replaced with a new block aimed at the 6-11 demographic. Toonami will continue to show Yu Yu Hakusho and Dragonball GT. Transformers Energon will join the block. Rurouni Kenshin will rejoin the block. Toonami will get an original Cartoon Network series, Megas XLR (in May). Finally, the whole thing launches with the premiere of Gundam SEED.
