why does it seem like that first picture of people (the blonde... girl?) looks like s/he's wanting to pick his/her nose?

| I have to say I'll really impressed with how 12 is looking so far, I've been rather disapointed by most of the FF's from 7 on (I think 9 was the exception) so I hope this one doesn't join the crowd.. |

dammit, why do the main male heroes gotta be blonde? Don't these Japanese have any pride in their own stock of black haired people?
then again, when your nation is so completely homogenized as Japan, I can see where a different hair color might be considered exciting and fantastic... but why always blonde? Why does Square always got to be kissin' the white-man's ass like that? Shee-it...[/rant]

I think it's because blonde (aside from being the ultimate in sexiness) is the complete antithesis to the seas of writhing black moppage of the japanese.
It's the reason that the blues, pinks, ect are used as hair in alot of anime. I sea of black hair is boring visually. Very very boring.
Did I mention blonde is the sexiest hair color? Oh, and in alot of cultures where dark dark hair is the norm having blonde hair is hairly prized. |

Wait...but hasn't XI only been out for like a month and X-2 is coming in a couple weeks. They're cranking these games out like Mickyd's Hamburgers...

I already mentioned the homogenized Japanese ethnic makeup, so that makes sense, but why always blonde!?! An no, I don't think blonde is the ultimate in sexiness, and I come from a culture of people with almost all black hair (I'm Native American, remember?)...
...personally, I find red hair to be much sexier... Why can't they throw in a redhead into a Final Fantasy game every now and then?... an auburn or a strawberry blond even?... I went to school with a girl who had the darkest auburn/red wine colored hair, and I had the biggest crush on her from first through eighth grade because of her hair...
...then again, I also had a crush on another girl from Kindergarten through eighth grade, and she had long black wavy hair... and she's the one I liked the most... in fact, I tend to hit on girls with black or dark brown hair the most at my job, and blondes the least... I guess it's just personal taste...
