Post subject: Anime Party Help

Ok. So, I'm having an anime party due to the fact that I know soooo many people who are obsessed with anime, including myself. I need to work on the lineup of shows. I'm only going to show the first season of each one, and I'm hoping for as many shows as I can.
Soo.... Suggestions for which shows??
I've already decided that I'm going to show Fushigi Yuugi and Ceres the Celestial Legend. But I want a LOT more. _________________ Nevermore |

Oh, and i forgot to add that it may not just be the first season, if everyones read the manga or if they've all just already seen part of it I may show the second season instead of the first.
So if u know some that kinda sucked at first but got better later, then u can recomened those too!
lol, I'm so overly excited about my lil anime party. lol. I'm such a geek. _________________ Nevermore |

First off, you can edit previous posts to append news, particularly if there haven't been replies since.
Also, what kind of theme do you want? Romantic, comedy, depressing, action, etc. If you don't have a theme, then a lot of the impact is lost. _________________ Krogoth uses Berserk.

Yu Yu Hakusho, and Dragonball Z are some good shows. Maybe you should incorporate them at your anime party. _________________ "Charles Xaiver did more for mutants than you could ever know. My only regret is that he had to die for our dream to live." -Magneto, X Men3:The Last Stand |

Judging by your first couple titles it looks like you're doing a Shoujo theme. In my experiance the best party anime is comedy with action in between. The emotions most easily conveyed among a group are fear and laughter. In terms of anime you'll probably find much more of the latter than the former.
Some great party anime are
Fruits Basket
Azumanga Diaoh
Excel Saga
GTO
Chrono Crusade
and end the night with something emotional or inspirational like Cowboy Bebop or Memories. _________________ Bang. |

Or you could just make a consistent theme and have them build upon each other. Our plan for next semester (right before finals week) is this:
1. SaiKano
2. Now & Then, Here & There
3. Grave of the Fireflies
Anyone who knows about these will immediately see our mischevious aims.
Oh, yeah, this is taking place on May 8. _________________ Krogoth uses Berserk.

Yes, those fifty something episode animes are just perfect for a party that won't last more than a day. It's such a great idea to show people a tiny fraction of the series and pretend someone got fulfillment out of it, instead of admitting that you just showed it because you really like the series and didn't take a party atmosphere into consideration.
