I need a new television since the one I had has really bad screen burn. I want to avoid this EVER happening again. I'm told the DLP technology is the way to go, but I wanted to take a poll to see if any of you out there thought otherwise or had any suggestions.
THANK YOU! |

DLP is currently the best bang for your buck. Make sure it does 1080p if it's larger than 42", though. You'll apprecite it when that resolution becomes more common. _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

If you want to avoid burn-in then stay away from plasma.
Other than that, decide if you want a TV that's HD-ready (requires an external box to get HD channels) or has HD built-in (has an internal HD tuner and digital cable receiver).
Some cable providers still make you rent an external box for digital cable, even if your TV can decode it with a special card (called a cable card). _________________ "Robots don't say 'ye'."

If you decide to go flat-panel (Plasma, LCD) you really should check the native resolution.
Many screens will be "EDTV", or 852x480...or 480p. Not the High Definition you think you're getting.
1280x720, or if you can afford it, 1920x1080 is best. _________________ My old sig was too long. |

And remember to get see that p on the top-end resolution. Interlacing is crap. _________________ This space left intentionally blank.
