CP you gotta let me know a price range and I'll give you some good suggestions, because it all depends on that. Because you can get a great guitar for not too much money, but um....yeah
one thing that I would say though is looks for X-Bracing
but that's kinda stanrd in many guitars now.

I'm looking for an acoustic guitar, for under $500. Hopefully less. There's a store near me that has some good sales about once every 3 months, so it shouldn't be too difficult. _________________ anime is teh s uck

That's a good range, you get something REALLY nice for that much, and even less.
This is sweetness defined right here.

Ya that does look good. I play cello right now so that's two pluses. One, I already know how to read bass clef and two, finger the notes with my left.
So a right-handed one would probably be easier.
That yamaha is way out of my range though. Unlike the cello there's no way I'm gettin my grandmother to front up the cash for one so looks like I'm heading down the 200-300 lane. For my first base I might even to a used one for a 100.
Gonna go ask a couple bass players at school if they know if they know of one for sale.
I really really want an Ibanez. Fieldy from Korn, Robert Merril from Godsmack and Greg from Offspring all use them ^^;; _________________ Bang.

If you're looking for awesome value with not much pressure on the pocket I'd say the Epiphone way. Epiphone is my best friend. I own and acoustic and an electric Epiphone. So does a friend of mine.
these are all good instruments people no matter what someone with a $1000 bass or guitar says.

*sigh* Oddly enough, the older I get, the smaller my Christmas wish list gets, mostly because I finally understand the perils of earning money... Which is why my family started a new tradition this year, and each of the adult members of the family are only responsible for one other person... so the only people I have to buy presents for are my dad (who I got "assigned" this year) and, of course, both of my nieces (god, those little girls are going to be so spoiled)... I kinda feel weird about not getting presents for everyone else, but I suppose that means more money for myself, so yay!...
What I'd like for Christmas:
A new computer (and, while I'm fantasizing, it should have Halo, Half-Life 2, and Final Fantasy XI)
Final Fantasy X-2 (now that I saw most of the costumes in one of the other threads, it finally caught my attention)
A GBA or GBA SP with either Pokémon Ruby or Sapphire (yeah, I'm an incurable Pokéholic)
Some guitar stuff (you know, sheet music, electronic tuner, maintenence stuff, that sort of thing, because I haven't been practicing with my guitar as much as I should)
What I'll probably get for Christmas (because my older sister is buying my presents this year):
New clothes (which I actually need, and wouldn't mind getting)
Gift certificates (which are always cool)
Actually, gift certificates are the ultimate gift, and I wouldn't mind getting certificates to Barnes and Noble, Suncoast, or EB Games... _________________ "The principles you live by create the world you live in; if you change the principles you live by, you will change your world." -Blaine Lee

Dream list...
New Computer Case...
And a New Processor...
I gotta lotta goodies in my crappy compaq case, but its just too small to work in...
A Fender Jazz bass...black with...probably black pick guard...
They have some very sweet action...
And I have small hands, so that tapered neck is awesome...
An Ampeg amp (the cream of the bass amp crop)
Nothing specific, it just has to have enough power and a seperate head and cabinet...
About $5,000 to buy my drum set...
And about $2,000 of that is Cymbals, Hardware, and Snare...
The other $3,000 is for a Drum Workshop bass drum (either a 20 or a 22-inch), a 14-inch tom-tom, a 16-inch tom-tom, and a 18-inch tom-tom. I'm not sure if I want the 16 and the 14 to be floor toms or ISS mounts...I'm not sure at this point....I don't really know if the set has enough stands in the right place to support both of the rack toms...
The money to build my recording studio...
Reality List...
Mclintock (a John Wayne Movie) on DVD...only $10 bucks...
And good company... _________________ "If you've ever had your nipple bit off by a beaver, you might just be a redneck..."

Hence the term "Dream List"...
It's the stuff I want, but know I won't get...
But I'm totally okay with that... _________________ "If you've ever had your nipple bit off by a beaver, you might just be a redneck..."

Hey man, it's good to find a fellow serious drummer. I'm working on buying up a sort of modified Travis Barker set, but it's still a bit expensive. All I have right now is snare bass high tom and floor tom and for cymbals I have hi-hats a crash and a crash-ride.
