Anyone else really want to poke some of those people with a sharp, pointy stick? Particularly one imbued with spelling and grammar.
Completely off-topic, I've become very, very appreciative of Tyler's limits on our signatures. Yes, you can put more than one thing (or a picture) into the sig, and it doesn't necessarily cause trouble. But all too often people go crazy with their sig space, and it's a pain to try to figure out what portion of the things they say is important. _________________ Krogoth uses Berserk.

i side with nobu here: negative publicity is still publicity either way, though i can't help but find it amusing just how small the "internet world" can be at times... _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

I scoured some of those forums, I agree, Most of them are crazy... But as long as we keep them penned up in one safe forum.
I think its better to keep them penned up. _________________ -Ixidor |

I was inspired to do this when some missionaries from my church went on a mission's trip. Basically if you were a missionary going to an anime story which animes would go to and who would you (try to) convert?
Here's mine:
Sailor Moon: Basically every senshi and their families except for Haruka and Michiru they are sorta a lost cause given their position. Guess If I were there I'd just pray for them.
Hikaru No Go: I'd try every character. But Sai a lost cause due to he's dead.
Rockman EXe: Every good guy of course.
Cardcaptor Sakura: Every good guy. (Their magic is a set back but they can still use it and be Christians I guess.)
Sonic X: I can imagine Sonic and all his little friends as christians can you? |
Theses guys are really nuts, I can not for the life of me think of an anime that's not heretical or doesn't go against some christianic value.
Hypocrites the lot of them! _________________ Bang. |

I am so in agreement with Shooraijin on this. Ranma 1/2 is a classic. If you want to know anime or manga at it's best you'd love Ranma. I'd agree, it's PG 13. The manga ka who wrote this is one of the best and has been doing it for such a long time. She handles each of her stories with so much wonderful character development and the nudity is obviously a cultural preference of comedy. It's like watching BBC when you're in England. They see humor a bit different than we see humor. I mean, you have in the Japanese culture families who take baths together. We'd be in awe and shock if our moms or dads jumped in the tubs with us. So, you really have to consider the cultural relevance in their humor.
I'd give Ranma a big thumbs up, unless you just don't want to read it. That is ultimately your decision and no one can make that decision for you. |
There are plenty of nutjobs in that religion, like in all religions. But this person is one of the instances that show you there ARE good open-minded Christians. As a devout non-Christian I just wish I dealt with this type of religious person all the time.
