I was one of those kids who watched tv on Saturday afternoons*yes I had no life even then*. During my childhood 2 shows caught my attention for a while, until they were cancelled, Those were Van-Pires and World Championship Martial Arts. The second was cool because it was set up like a real life video game, plus it was hosted by Shannon Lee, Bruce Lee's daughter.

Obscure "WMAC Masters" Trivia: The guy that played "The Machine" was in the Mortal Kombat movie. What was his real name? I have no idea.

Anyways, there's a promo on the Sci-Fi Channel about a new Battlestar Galactica miniseries event. Check it out at http://www.scifi.com/battlestar/. No wonder the Cylons were such terrible shots; their one eye kept bouncing back and forth.

*some random thoughts on old TV shows*

I wish i got BBC America here... that way I'd be able to watch reruns of Red Dwarf, The Young Ones, and, of course, Monty Python's Flying Circus more often... as it is, I only get to watch it at my parents' place, cuz they have Digital Cable...

...and it sucks that Comedy Central doesn't play reruns of The Kids in the Hall as much as they used to... and when Mystery Science Theater 3000 was bought up by SciFi Channel, they stopped showing the old episodes. Now I have to go on eBay and crap to find people who have old crappy home VHS copies just to get my fix of Mike, Joel, Crow, Tom Servo, and the Mads...

...at least Sci-Fi is still playing reruns of MST3K on Saturday mornings... for now...

I really wish I could catch old episodes of the original Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids on TV somewhere as well...

And one more thing, whatever happened to Captain N: The Game Master, you know, that really horrible Saturday Morning cartoon based on a bunch of Nintendo games? It had Mega Man and Simon Belmont (from Castlevania) and all sorts of game characters in it...

...(wonder how CAPCOM feels about that really horrible Americanized Mega Man in the Captain N cartoons... not that the actual MegaMan cartoon was all that great, but at least it was based more on the games than that Mega Man)...

...(i also wonder how a show with the villain from Metroid could possibly get away with not having the hero of Metroid in it... Seemed rather illogical not to have Samus in the show at all, but oh well)...

Now, more than ever, people are ready for old hour-long shows like Miami Vice and the A-Team. Thanks to reality, people want fantasy.

those were good, well some of them. When duckman came back after its long hiatus (a couple years if I remember correctly) it lost a good deal of charm and while still funny it just wasn't quite as good and never recaptured what it once had.

by the by, duckman in on comedy central on sunday nights so its not realy lost, let alone long lost. Earthworm Jim on the otherhand.... lets just sya I'm glad I was able to find my tapes of the show seeing as they will be the only episodes I will ever be able to watch again.
