Post subject: Anybody know how to make a database?
I'm trying to make a database of live action movies for my website and everyone keeps saying go to SQL to make one but nothing makes sense there, plus it doesn't look like what I need. If you've ever been to tv.com and seen their database that's the kind I have in mind. I hope this was posted in the correct place.

Ok, lets start with some basics.
A database is a storage device. You will need an intermediate system to make a pleasent viewing system also called a "front end" such as that used at the site you pointed out.
A very commonly used database and front end is MySQL and PHP. Both are free and supported on various operating systems.
If you don't want to make this super pretty, you may be happy with a basic MySQL interface and management tool called PHPmyAdmin. Note that this is also free, and since it contains management tools, should never be used by anyone other than the administrator.
I would recommend that you visit a book store or library and find a couple of introductory books on PHP 5, HTML (XHTML 1.0), and MySQL 5.
