I have been looking at Cartoon Networks schedule for nexty week, and it looks like there will be no DBZ next week...If anyone knows, the 411 would be appreciated.
The schedule's not updated yet. The program listings you're seeing are for June 4th, not July. Check it again after tomorrow, or maybe Saturday. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

Maybe now it'll sink in. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

I'm just going to say this - seeing the two oni having "HELL" clearly written on their shirts was a rather pleasing experience.
Best line from a Cartoon Cartoon: "Sometimes love hurts, Pud'n. And I love you very much."

I never realized it took Goku so long to get down Snake Way. 3 months of just running. Not seeing these first episodes before really makes a lot of "lights" turn on for me. Several of you have said that these are the best episodes, and I tend to agree. I had only seen the battle between Goku and Nappa/Vegeta before. Theses prior episodes really build the drama of how powerful Nappa and Vegeta are. I am now waiting to see what was cut out of the battle between Goku and them as well as the Namek Saga episodes. Way to go Cartoon Network, you are making me happy. _________________ Opinions are like A$$holes. Everyone has one.

Although it was kinda cheesy, I wish they kept in the old, OLD intro for these episodes ("Stand-by-for-Dragon-ball-Z!"). Of course, I suppose that'd mean we'd have to hear "Rock The Dragon" again, so maybe it's a fair trade-off...
Anyway, last night's episode with the "lesser" characters training in the pendulum room was one of the first episodes I ever got to see when it aired on the WB just over ten years ago. It was also the episode that really got me into the series, as well as the one that made Yamcha my favorite character. I found the beat-down by those Saiyans gruesome back then, and when Kami said the one's coming were "...twice as strong", I remember actually fearing for the good-guys' safety as well as that of the Earth itself...
(Ah, to be 11 again...)
Seeing the series again in this way has been a great experience, so I'm more than satisfied that Cartoon Network has been airing it in this format... _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

.
Deja Vu
I felt the same way. This show was probably the first time I ever cared about the fate of a character because I knew there was a chance they might not "Respawn" the next episode. _________________ Bang.

Aww, I liked "Rock the Dragon" . . . .
Regarding Edits: When Goku was in Princess Snake's house (or whatever her name was) they painted out his ass crack. His entire butt was in the air, and they trimmed it down to the amount of butt you see form your friendly neighborhood plumber. But then, nakedness is ALWAYS taboo.
They did NOT cut out the Snake girl playing RUSSIAN FUCKING ROULETTE AND SHOOTING HERSELF IN THE HEAD. Granted, it was all so utterly silly that I couldn't help but laugh. But usually guns are taboo. Let alone shooting one'se self in the head playing Russian Roulette.
Just thought I'd update you as to the standard we're seeing. Personally, this is even more than I thought they would allow. I am happy. _________________ anime is teh s uck

Hey look! It's one of my bullet pointed posts!
A) You can always have fun with Google... a guy named "Chris Psaros" used to run a Dragonball Z Uncensored site. If you can find it, it lists EVERY SINGLE EDIT up to the middle of the Namak saga.
B) I actually rolled my eyes at the thought of the robot episode. But that played just as big a role in Gohan's development as his dino buddy getting munched. Nice to have it back.
C) To prove I'm legally insane I've begun to watch the CN airing, then pop in my LEGITIMATE VHS Season 1 set to see the differences.
Hell, on half the translation it's just about the same so the only reason I can appreciate the redub outisde the fights is because it's honestly a little distracting to watch Piccolo train Gohan and wonder why Wolverine is being such a pissant to Hamtaro.
D) My fourth point... was SENT TO ANOTHER DIMENSION!
But I liked Rock the Dragon compared to the "Justice League Lite" epileptic fit that is the new intro. _________________ JKyle.com (Because bad things happen to good people) Cast in the Name of God

Nappa fight!
The good:
Roshi gropes Bulma and gets smacked. In neither censored nor uncensored does she notice Oolong do the same damn thing minutes later. Hug that chest pig. Hug it.
Seeing Saibaman melt to his skeleton
Seeing Tien's Hand detach (I watched the censored version right after... YOU JUST WAIT'LL IT GROWS BACK!)
Lots of Yamcha Corpse! Is there any better kind?
The bad:
No "Mister Piccolo"
They cut out "This is NUTS!"
Oh god... I know the extra dialogue was tepid on average but that was Krillin's TRADEMARK.
Yeah, seeing Tien's hand chopped off made me gasp in horror AND delight. He BLOCKED. That was him BLOCKING. He BLOCKED the shot and it still chopped his hand off.
This IS nuts. _________________ anime is teh s uck
