well, here's a question, what if we haven't heard of GURPS? are we supposed to stay out in the cold with no other information on this game other than it is uber sweet? are we supposed to feel ashamed and left out because we don't know? Seriously though you should give us some information as to what this amazing piece of gameplay is.

Steve Jackson Games was the publisher. You can thank GURPS for the current 3rd Edition D&D's lowered reluntance on dice. GURPS required 3 six sided and that was it.

GURPS character creation was by far the most i had ever had with a table top RPG. You want a super strong character? Sure you can do that. But the cost is that his personality quirks might just outweigh it. So a blind 1 eyed juggling dwarf with a fear of heighs and hallistosis was possible. And this dwarf would have the strength of 10 men. The personality quirks really allowed you to roleplay unlike any other RPG at the time. Because your character was defined during creation. Not as you played it. I liked to GM a GURPS campaign back in the day. You could do strange shit like drop Robotech Veritechs into a battle with Dragons to see who would win. Generic being the first world was very accurate.

There were quite a few books for it. And i believe its still being made

I might go grab one of the new books to see what changes have been made in the last 15 years since i have be played it.

If you want a different type of table top RGP find PARANOIA. This is another one that lets you roleplay. Plus it allows you to stab your friends in the back repeatedly with or without them knowing it. The DM portion of Paranoia must never be read by the players. Or they will learn to much. So what is your security clearence?

I would be interested in another RPG, but I got FFXI. Free time no longer exists.

Quite the understatement. Amazon.com lists about 200 titles in their catalog.
I used to have the "Prisoner" companion for it.

Some of my friends and I are trying to start a pen and paper RPG club (in an attempt to get people into something other than D'n'D) at school with an online character thingy to go with it... I don't really know what's going on 'cause I'm the brains behind the paperwork (Joey's in charge of the online stuffs, I'll ask about it again). I wouldn't mind trying to get in a few outsiders if this ever works.

Plus I wanna rock out my pyromaniac valkyrie(sp?)...

You know, it's all good.
