Well, Toy Story had a pretty good plot.

However, Shrek was a very good satire of fairy tales. It was fun as a story, but not really significant. The way it shined most was in the CG. You see, Toy Story (and TS 2) had good modeling, and better-than-average physics, but Shrek had much more. Namely, textures. In Toy Story, everything is perfectly smooth. This is okay for characters made of plastic, but it carried over onto the "human" characters. Shrek had awesome texturing on nearly everything. It looked vastly more realistic. And for me, nothing is more important than realism. (I think that came from reading far too much sci-fi as a child)

I agree that Shrek is the best, but in Toy Story's defense there was a reason for the plastic look. In 1995, that was the best you could do. Making a story about toys was brilliant because it used the limits of the technology to their advantage. Everything was going to look plastic, so rather than deny it, they embraced it. Genius. Then, in TS2, you can't really change the look of the characters that much, or else you ruin it, so again, they had a reason.

Also, in TS2, the guy who repairs toys is the same character from the Oscar winning Pixar short film about that guy who plays chess with himself. )Go to Pixar's site (I forget what it is) and watch it. It's a great clip.) This really has no bearing on the quality of the movie, I just thought it was cool when I realized that it was the same character.

Hey, speaking of Zechs infinite generousity in letting me use his webspace for this, would either of you two mind undertaking the creation of a Fighter Christmas avatar?

At some point, I might be able to whip one up . . . Unfortunately, you're actually too skinny in that picture.

It doesn't have to be a picture of me. Anything both Christmas and Fighter related would be quite nice.
