I was just thinking about how cool Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is and how I trully enjoyed the first two games in that series. Then I got started thinking about other games in need of a modern adaption. One most certainly came to mind, Magic Carpet, but so did a whole mess of others.
What games would you love to see revived, reinvented, revamped from your youth, or even from before your time (for some of you)?
I already mentioned Magic Carpet, but I would also move to see a new Shining Force game (even an anthology with all the previous games on one disc), and a Lunar 3.
Yar's Revenge II has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? |

You should remake some of the classic Motorcycle games like Road Rash or Excite Bike.
Road Rash would be a Racing/combat game but with the same weapons of the original inculding chains, maces, an a 2x4 with a nail in it. Oh, and a carrer mode that allows you to create your own biker gang.
For Excite Bike think Wave Race with mopeds. _________________ Bang. |

along those lines, the ability to start somewhere besides the back of every race would be nice too...
i'd probably give an organ for phantasy star 5 to become a reality, and a true grandia 3 would be high on my list as well...
non-rpg sequels? i'd really like to see an updated double dragon game, and i think r.c. pro am is WAY overdue for a remake... _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

What would I like to see revamped?
*waits for John Bono to guess*
Yeah, it's Fire Emblem. # 4 and 5, particularly. They were freaking awesome! It would be absolutely kickass if they had good graphics! _________________ Krogoth uses Berserk.

I'd really like to see a revamp of FF1. And don't say chronicles--that was just a slap in the face, single generation graphics upgrade. _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

Ahem it was Origins bono....I should know cause I own it...and it kicks ass. So it's a slap in the face eh? Then I guess you wouldn't mind missing out on ff2j as well. Anyways, for me i'd like to see a remake of the pc game Tyrian. If you haven't heard of it that's ok because few have. _________________ There is limited intelligence in the galaxy, but the stupidity of the universe is infinite. |

I'm saying as a remake. Now that I think about it, though, I think they only charge $30 for it, so it's okay, I guess. But dammit, it's about time they make it along the calibur of FFX. _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

I have to disagree with you Bono. FF1 was great because there was very little plot, very bad graphics, yet very GOOD gameplay. It's the first turn-based RPG I ever played, second RPG I ever played (Zelda came first) and it KICKED MAJOR ASS. I played it again a few months ago (though only played a quarter of it.) To give it an upgrade of any sort would ruin the nostalgia and remove all charm. If they add any more plot or side quests, then it's an entirly different game. Yet if they don't, people will say it sucks. A remake will kill it.
I want to see a sequel to Goldeneye. A GOOD sequel. All the Bond games have gone so hard downhill . . . _________________ anime is teh s uck

It occured to me just what game Sega needs to be making: Streets of Rage 5. That could be awesome with today's graphics and the number of combinations and moves that would be available. _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

Square should get off its butt and finish that 3rd Chrono series game that has been whispered for a while. (What sense does it make to register a name, which is so obviously indicative of a sequel in arguably the greatest continuous RPG series ever, and not follow through?)
Other than that, the 2nd intallment of Freelancer and the 3rd in the OG C&C series. And let us not pass up another chance to relive the pure genius of Devo: Adventures of the Smart Patrol. _________________ Rycel's Death Count on this board: 7

They've made "sequels" to that already and are still coming out with more.
This isn't a "oh man, I loved this game back in the day" thread. This is a hey, this game was cool, shame they haven't made any sequels/games like it since thread. |

Perfect Dark is about as close as you'll get, I'm afraid. Although TimeSplitters 2 wasn't that bad, it's just not the same. |

They need to make a true sequel to Mario RPG. They made Paper Mario which was nothing like RPG and then Mario & Luigi. A good game but not truly like the original. They need to make a game in the same style. |
