Hmmm... I'm actually going to my senior prom in a few days.... Not sure why but I am. Anyway I'm just going with a few of my friends. chances are we'll just sit back and make fun of out classmates. If my computer is up and running I'll tell you about it when I get home(doubt I'll go to sleep anyway)

I didn't go to my junior prom because:
A) I knew it was going to be gay AND stupid (this was confirmed the following Monday)
B) I didn't want to waste my money on a tux that I'll hate wearing and only get to use once
C) I have no girl
D) I don't dance
E) I can't dance
I think that's all. |

| as far as the tix thing goes, you very well could use it more than once as there are more oppertunities to wear a tux for guys than prom dresses for girls. |

I rented my Tux my junior year. Since I was girlless and couldn't care less, I just wore a nice black suit and bow-tie.

There is nothing to slow dancing. Just hold her by waste and move in circle slowly steping in your perfered direction(without stepping on her toes, lol). And dancing to fast paced, hip-hop songs, well, just go with the flow, and if she does too, then you are probably going to be doing some grinding. (I must note that you should have some "self control" when grinding. I'll let you figure that out)
*Oh and since I started this thread pissed off, I thought I would update and say I am now happy at the results. She wasn't mad at me after all, so things worked out well! Ok....go back to your daily lives and stop reading my soap opera. |

That's not what I'd really consider "dancing", personally.

That's reptty much me except it was my senior prom, I had a girl, and I dance sometimes. but yeah I knew it was gonna be the gayest, at least for me.

I'm a disco and robot fiend.
I can also slide around the floor and it looks really cool. but it took me a while to learn how to do it. I can also dance a little bit of salsa and merengue cause I have to know, I'm Domonican.

One time i was dancing with my girlfriend at a banquet or something and she says that I kept on stepping on her feet, but I still believe that it was HER feet slipping under mine.

Jeese, you people are so wickedly morbid about dances. My god, are all geeks this self conscious?
Dirty little secret: If you think you might look stupid, you will, if you don't care, you won't.
Just go with the flow and throw yourself in and you'll have a blast.
As far as getting a date, well, only thing I can say is, if you're a junior now, start working on a few different options for next year. I'll relate my personal date-search account after I go to my own prom in a week.

eh, the prom always seemed like such a hassle that just wasn't worth it in my eyes...actually, i think i made the right choice in NOT going to the senior prom because about four or five of us got together for a huge jam session which was a complete blast (not to mention easy on the wallet)...
as for dancing, i could go into a long explanation of why it's not for me, but i'll just say this: i'm the guy who fell off the ddr machine...i'll stick to playing an instrument, thanks...
