when toonami came into this new time slot , and towards the envidalble ( pardon my spelling ) death of Ruoni Kenshin and Yu Yu hakusho, i believe this killed off alot of their fan base

to add to this, they seem to have lost a big part of their music interest
if u look at toonami nowadays, u'll be lucky to hear their music only in their commercials, no more music videos, interesting intros, and its become repetitive.

a few animes the rights , if they dont own already , should be bought
- "GTO " great teacher onizuka
- "HellSing "
- " Excel Saga "
and
-Fushigi Yuugi
to name a few

some classic animes they should bring back
- Outlaw star - if they can get the rights back for a reasonable price
- DBZ at a reasonable f'n hour and consistent time
- Gundam Wing , or at least show the movie from time to time
- Tenchi Muyo
- Yu Yu Hakusho
- Ruoni Kenshin
for the moment those r what come to mind

im not demanding or anything thing, but what they've put out theiir now in their old time slot " Meguzi " seems more age appropreiate a lil earlier in the day. something could be worked out there im sure

one thing they really need to get into again is the music.
their specials they had over animated music videos and techno music from their own video vault.

lets face it, the competition for ratings has changed alot since 2000, and currently Toonami is getting its @$$ handed to them by adult swim, unfortunately Meguzi , and Comedy central even.

for those of u here who say every f'n newb post this at least once, well aside from saying mind ur own @#! buisness, theres a reason for theses post. a neglected audience.

Your FACE is a neglected audience.

Rar rar rar Toonami Doesn't Love ME Rar rar rar Give Us Stuff Someone Else Owns Rar rar rar I don't care if it's 20 years old and no one else wants to see it, EVERYONE wants to see it don't you know that? Rar rar rar . . .

We've heard it. Again, Cartoon Network is one of THE most watched networks on television. As in top 10. As in, in the nation.

Despite what you may think, they know what they're doing?

If you don't like it, then don't watch. But the fact of the matter is that they've made more anime, of more varieties, accessible to the mainstream than anyone else could have hoped for.

So be thankful.

I'm getting sick and tired of hearing the same "Toonami needs bla bla bla" rants over and over again. Be thankful CN is even showing anime at all. Let's face it, CN has the most high quality anime titles on its network than any other channel. Besides that, they're the most successful animated network this side of Nickelodeon. They don't even have to show good anime. Given their quality original works, they could stand to coast on half baked anime crapfests if they wanted to, but they don't. If you don't like the anime that they show, stop complaining and buy what you want on DVD (or watch G4, or Encore Action for hits like Hellsing and Rahxephon).

Well normally I'd jump in and bash the nub but i'm holding off. As far as the shows you want aired, like GTO, even if CN bought the rights for those series, they would under go way to much censoring. While [AS] would be a better use for those shows, even their anime line up is neglected by the fans.

At this point, the only way you'll get your old shows back is to purchase the boxsets. Please don't say that those are to expensive because you can get one or two series a paycheck making $6/hr. Like the Outlaw Star boxset, I bought that at Hastings for like $40.

Finally, welcome to the board. I'm sure you weren't quite expecting to have your ass chewed out for ranting on a Toonami board but the regulars and former-newbs-now-members have been here long enough that we sadly know the truths of the system.

For Bono: What now smart ass? The newb was bashed before I even posted and will probably never come back. And my post is even nice. Whos scaring who away now bitch? Thats right sucka, i'll cut you. Looking forward to killing you.

Judging by the last few paragraphs of his OP, I think he was expecting it, or at least inviting it. Wink

P.S. to our threadstarter- you may call it a "neglected" audience, but the ratings performance of your suggested shows (what makes the money wheel go 'round) renders it into a "negligible" audience, especially on repeats.
Sad but true.

I believe Toonami stopped showing most of those shows because there weren't getting good ratings. I'm also somewhat new to this board and the reason I am here is because Toonami/ Cartoon Network showing grat shows like DBZ Yu Yu Hakusho, Ruroni Kenshin, Gundams, Naruto, One Piece, Teen Titans and others.

For some reason, all the veterans now remind me of old coots skeet-shooting...with newbies instead of ceramic disks

Serious, switch from buckshot to nerf, eh?

But other than that, yeah, CN knows what they're doing. They have entire TEAMS devoted to finding out what would be best. So, I don't complain, I submit to what the majority like, and buy a DVR for the stuff I like.

The "Paperboy treatment" (so named because it's typically him who does the bashing0 is a a test to see if one can handle the forum. If someone survives the initial broadside, they'll stick around, meaning they're probably alright. Let the initiation rites continue unchecked!

When was it determined that I was the main one bashing? Very rarely have I been the first. Granted, when I do bash i'm to the point and brutal but i'm not the main one.

I think I'm one of the only ones who don't bash on the new people.
