Post subject: 11/27/05 - Nobody understands me!

Me: "Y'know, I think it'd be hilarious if the football commentators had what they said played over the stadium speakers. It would be really demoralizing for the players and coaches."
Parents: "...wha?"

Me: "They should play the football commentator's banter over the stadium speakers. It would be totally demoralizing to the players. Wouldn't that be awesome?"
Amanda: "Um....ok..."

Me: "I think the TV commentator's banter should be played over the big speakers at the stadiums. It would be REALLY demoralizing for the players, but hilarious for everyone else."
Julie: "yeah."

In all three cases you were clear, to the point, and semi-funny. The results show that people are at least somewhat stupid.
Then again, football and all subjects related to it tends not to bring out the best in people. Thus the whole thing is only semi-funny.

Once in a blue moon, I would go to my local baseball stadium in Anaheim and that's exactly what happened.
No one really cared or found it funny, though. They were just kinda, "eh."

Did they make fun of the players and criticize their every move?
I can just imagine a lil' football player hearing two old guys making fun of him, and just bursting into tears and running off the field.

The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself? |

No, not me at least.
That would be funny though, the commentators would have no clue that everyone is hearing them and they would just say anything they want even make fun of players.
