Post subject: The course of events of 5 hours at the Apple Store

Christmas at the mall started before Halloween.
In addition to it being impossible to find a nearby parking spot, the lines of cars LEAVING the mall keep people from entering. It's genius. Keep people from leaving and they'll buy more.
On my quarter-mile walk to the mall from my parking spot, I passed about a dozen Parking Vultures. They're the type who circle the prime parking spaces waiting for the day that they can catch someone walking out and leaving the space closest to the mall open. That's when they strike. Slowly sneaking up behind someone walking out. It's pitiful.
These people will spend half an hour saving themselves 3 minutes of walking. Nevermind the hours of walking they'll do INSIDE the mall...just like the people who park in the handicapped spots.
The Photos section has been destroyed and replaced with another Music section. Nobody likes digital cameras, but people love the iPod (I don't seem to understand). There are pyramids of iPod boxes on the tables that need constant rebuilding throughout the day. I don't know how many are actually bought or just stolen.
R. Kelly visited the store today. He brought a camera guy with him for some reason. They hung around an iPod display for about 10 minutes until some weirdo customer recognized him and made him sign his iPod.
He eventually bought 4 of the 60GB iPod photos.
At the checkout, R asked "Hey, are these easy to use?"
The drone ringing him up took the easy way out and said "Yup. Just Plug-and-Play."
Better responses:
"Easier than raping a 15 year old girl."
"Easier than visiting every house in the neighborhood and announcing that you're a sex offender."
"Easier than forgetting your career."
And my ex-girlfriend visited me today out of the blue. She was much more hyper than I've seen her before.
"TYLER!!!!"
[shocked look]"Wow. Hi."
[hugs]"HOW ARE YOU! WHAT'S UP?!?"
"I'm...uh...working."
What do you say to people you haven't seen in over two years? Yeah. I have a job. You have a job. I live at home, you live with your boyfriend. Buy a Mac.
Today wasn't a good day for funny customers. Here's the best I got:
"I need a Pentium 4 2.4GHz with at least 640 RAMs."
Nope. Sorry.
"$3299 for a computer? Why are Macs so expensive?"
"You're looking at our top-of-the-line dual-processor professional workstation. The eMac on the other hand starts at $799".
"But I want this one..." _________________ My old sig was too long. |

The iPod... Such a wonderful device. It's changed many lives, mine included. The only Apple product in many people's houses...
...But as soon as Sony adds MP3 support to the new Walkman, those iPod pyramids are going to be collecting dust.
Figures an Apple-lover would work at an Apple Store. _________________ Ice cream has this erotic sense to it- kinda like the one choclate and strawberries have.

sony is pretty good at making nifty looking gadgets. that seems to be a trait the japanese have honed to near perfection. and personally I think the ipod looks bland and boring. it's got no pizazz, no zing. |

If I ever won a Mac, I'd pawn it to buy RAM for my real computer. _________________ I'm getting too old for this. :SNAP: OH GOD, MY HIP! |

In honor of R. Kelley, you should... piss on your ex-girlfriend.
And my father now has Mac stuff, a PowerBook that he needed for a job (but now likes using), a (mini?) iPod, and an AirPort Express. _________________ Able and Baker is nice. |

Oh yeah. Another thing I forgot to mention.
THERE WAS A FURRY CONVENTION NEAR THE MALL.
Occasionally throughout the day, people with dog leashes or fake tails came into the store. We hit them over the nose with rolled up newspapers.
For one, we had to spray it with the hose to make it go away, but that made it smell worse. _________________ My old sig was too long. |
