.....................wow

Now that was one HELL of a movie. It's even better when you're seeing it in the most state-of-the-art theater in the whole damn state and the screen is about the same size as an IMAX, I cried during the final scene. Gollem has to be the best CG character of all time, they managed to bring out his character even more than the books did....sorta makes you feel sad when you think about what's gonna happen in the next movie. Oh, and it's funny when you can hear just about everyone in the theater ask the person next the them who "she" is. Then hear the other half say they don't know or "the elf lady".

So true Zechs. I was chuckling to myself knowing about who gollum was talking about while the other 99% of the theater had no clue. I guess it pays to read the books.

Geez, it seems like with where they left off that they'll need two intermissions in the next one (can't remember the name).
Anyway, saw Two Towers--awesometastic movie. I think the Ents were the best, strictly from a technical standpoint.
*after two hours of discussion* "We have discussed and come to a consensus... you are not little orcs."

John, if you had read the books, you would be saying, "What in the holy hells of Bilbo did they do to the Treants?"

*Spoilers ahead. I don't care if you object, this needs to be said. If you don't like it, read a book. I'd suggest something by Tolkien, like say, The Two Towers*
1. Actually, the graphic portrayal of them is quite good. Mad props, at least on that count.
2. All history of what the Ents are was erased. They didn't just APPEAR in a certain spot, but some older ones (i.e. Treebeard) had been all around the world, and eventually settled in that one spot.
3. Did they completely forget that they even referred to the Ents as "treeherders?" Why didn't the Ents take their forests with them? They did in the book, because Ents are not all-powerful. Pika-pika-IDIOT.
4. We can all agree that the Ents do not make snap decisions. This was covered in the movie. The Entmarch was about discussion to form a decision. It had Ents from all over the forest, who knew of the exploits of the orcs. And yet, in the movie, Treebeard goes near Isengard, sees the destruction he already knew about, and calls all his bretheren to attack at once. There is no thought, only action. All I can say about this is no, No, NO, NO!!

[/rant]

More as discussion warrants.

I'm gonna bet that they will release a special edition 4 disk DVD for The Two Towers just like they did for the Fellowship. And I would think that the extended version would include some of this Ent backstory that you speak of. If they put EVERY WORD froom the book into the movie, not only would it be too confusing for most people, but it would aslo be over 6 hours long. So you know what? Enjoy it for what it is. A kickass movie. (I still have yet to see it, btw.)

After doing some math, the entire trilogy, which is all one big movie, unedited, will amount to over 11 hours. An 11 hour flick. Wow.

FINALLY saw The Two Towers. 2 favorite parts were the Ents stomping on orcs (or were they Oudaki (sp?)) and the part with Gollum and the 2 rabbits (not gonna spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, but this part had my friend and I laughing for a minute straight. It was just so random!)

Been watching the special features on the Fellowship extended 4 disk DVD. 45,000 props were in the movie. Man, the work that was involved in making these films. The more I see the more I'm amzed.

Hmm... But the way Sam put it, it sounded like he was quoting Dan Quail. Razz

Someone needs to put a poll up- Attack of Clones(BANZAI! ), Two Towers, or Spiderman. Which was best of the year?

*SPOILERS* No, not the discussion with Sam about the rabbits. I mean, that was alright. Just Gollum giving them the two rabbits by all of a sudden dropping them into Frodo's lap while he was sleeping. It was hilarious. It was just so random. The two of us were laughing for the next minute. I missed half of the following dialogue. */SPOILERS*

And someone should make a poll for best movie of the year. I elect Spook. He's good about not missing any significant titles.
