After Moving to the wonderful city of Omaha, NE, I have quickly discovered the joys of having multiple arcades with several different Kinds of DDR. Infact, I just finished a 2 hour slew of dances at the local one inside the movie theater! But I have a question for those who have actually played the Arcade version. I noticed the machines have slots for Playstation memory cards (the machine in question is DDR EXTREME). PS2 memory cards won't fit but regular PS1 cards do. My only question is... how the hell am I supposed to get the damn thing to read the card? I sure would have liked to keep the songs I unlocked. Do I need to unplug the machine and then power it up with the card already in it?

DDR Freak is a good source for every type of info on DDR. Here is the answer to your memory card question.

Wait, shouldn't all songs on a machine be unlocked in about a week? Or can you unlock songs for home while at the arcade? Isn't it great to full combo Healing Vision Angelic Mix in front of a bunch of people that've never seen the game before? What about Exotic Ethnic? (Note: I haven't performed the latter.)

It'll never be unlocked. The machine was set to reset the total number of songs after each game. And whats worse is that the memory cards were disabled to! Oh well, so much for the local machine, I'll just have to start going to the one thats 10 min away from the house.
But yes bono, its fun to hit massive combos on hard songs infront of people who could never do this in a million years. Good example was when this couple gave it a shot and the boyfriend quit mid way through... on beginner. After they left, I got up there and one of the members of the 'audience'(people who worked at the theater) asked if I knew how to play? I said yes and he was all like," do it on hard!", I said i'd give it a shot. And then I saw it... the greatest song that never made it to the US PS versions... Butterfly! I was like, Hell yeah! God I love that song. Anyways, I nailed all but one step on heavy mode to that song and the workers were all like "ah hell no! I aint doing that crazy shit!"

Ah good times, good times.

Wait... Butterfly... impressive?
Didn't you say that you can pass Burning Heat on heavy? If you're on an 8th Mix, at least play Butterfly on Oni.

Anyhows, it never hurts to bug the hell out of the arcade manager to get things fixed (such as number of songs played). Hell, just point out that it would be very easy for one of the arcade attendants at a slow time to go into the machine options and set things properly. Hell, you can find the codes to unlock all the songs at Google as it is.

teehee hee... I might have overexagerated my claim there for burning heat. Sure, Butterfly on heavy is more like Burning Heat on Trick but still, with the weight I've gained, I'm amazed I can actually hit a damn thing on Standard or Heavy! But I'm further along then most people(coughcoughtylercoughcough) and Soon bono, I will be more then a match for you.

I wish the nearest working DDR machine wasn't over an hour away. I'll never get to play it seeing as....well let's just say I suck.

If I go by your definition of 'passed' then i've done all those as well. My definition of passed is making it with an A or higher.

By your definition, then, I've passed 5 songs. Go me.

When did I ever say that was my definition of 'passed'? My definition of passing these songs is passing them with machine difficulty set to 5 or higher (4 still counts, but can be a little iffy).

...a question: If you could pass that list of catas before, HOW IN THE HELL COULD YOU POSSIBLY DO ENOUGH DAMAGE TO YOUR BODY TO BE DOWN TO 5 AND 6 FOOT SONGS?
