Post subject: Himura Kenshin (RK TV) vs. Suzuka (OS): Round II

(note: i'd expect spoilers for each series, so read at your own risk)
i was looking through the early pages of the kenshin thread for a possible future project when i realized that i completely neglected this...
for those who may have forgotten, i put up this battle just over a year ago to see what everyone thought...what i found out was that most people had either not seen any kenshin, or if they had, just the first ova...there were eleven votes: three for kenshin, eight for suzuka...
now that kenshin's gotten its time on television, i thought i'd try this out one more time...
who would win in a fight, the "wanderer" kenshin that has vowed never to kill again, or suzuka, a feared assassin with the blemish of "losing" to gene starwind? for this fight, both would be in their conditions at the end of their respective series' television airings (i.e. forget "tales of the meiji" and any rumors about future outlaw star episodes), but feel free to consider if "battousai" kenshin or suzuka prior to meeting gene would alter the outcome in any way...
there's little doubt in my mind who i'm choosing...while suzuka has some great techniques, many of which remained a secret at the end of the series, she never really went up against anyone possessing "god-like" speed...what makes it hard to choose one or another though is the fact that kenshin won't kill in this state, and while he succeeded in upholding his code during his encounter with the badass shishio, there's no denying his body took one hell of a beating during the fight...
any thoughts? _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

Hmm, it's difficult to say, really. If we're talking about pre-ultimate-technique Kenshin, then Sazuka would win, even if he reverted to the Battosai state. HOWEVER, if Kenshin busts out the unavoidable, ultimate technique, then he wins. _________________ anime is teh s uck

I would have to say Kenshin. For his techniques and his will to live. _________________ FFXI: Heavens Redmage. Level 75

Definatly Kenshin as long as he is in his battoussia state...or after he learned his ultimate attack. _________________ I am God reincarnate.....treat me like it. |

Most defiantly Kenshin! Even if he vowed to never kill, he has the will to live wich helps him through everything. And examples of that are in his battle with Shishi-o. And he is an expertise at judging his opponents fighting techniques. ANd his god-like speed and his own style helps. Battousai or not.
Therefore I vote Kenshin!

I definately think Kenshin has this one, mostly because of his ability to judge his opponent and his ridiculus speed. There is no tool more powerful than sheer speed, especially in anything involving swordsmanship. _________________ Sometimes, we forget who we are. |
