Their beloved Futurama gets pushed back in favor of anime?
Never thought I'd see that happen. _________________ "Robots don't say 'ye'."

So Futurama and Sealab are quick ratings-grabbers to stave off extinction.
Showing the IY movie was damn near a no-brainer.
And hopefully Read or Die will be a precursor of good things to come. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

If, by a precurser of good things to come, Nobu, I hope you mean a certain other anime with the initials of R.O.D. _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

The only thing you can infer from my baseless speculation right now is that it makes sense to show Read or Die first. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

I'm buying the DVD anyway, as I must have the ultimate quality (within my reach) and not edits. I can live with the dub however.
Although, in a time of no money, it's always nice to watch it on TV. ^_^ |

UPDATE: There has been a change in plans. The Inuyasha movie is a no-go until at least April 2005. Click here for details. _________________ Toonami visual schedule - UPDATED AUGUST 2, 2015 |

Despite what some may think to the contrary, I'd like to see Castle of Cagliostro. Seeing as they used a shot of the movie in the B&W Lupin eyecatch (look in the lower left corner), it's not an impossibility. This might even lead to seeing more of Miyazaki's stuff on CN. _________________ Rycel's Death Count on this board: 7

Yeah that and the fact that it was referenced in FLCL. I mean it's only fair people should be able to see that classic. _________________ There is limited intelligence in the galaxy, but the stupidity of the universe is infinite. |

I think the viewers who short-change Lupin III either don't understand the concept or simply write it off for being old. So what if it's old? Some of the best stuff is old. Star Wars is old, Spider-Man is old, heck, even Plan 9 From Outer Space is old, and it's the single greatest movie of all time* (because it has Bela Lugosi as "Ghoul Man")!
And to those of you who fall under the first category, might I advise a little recreational research? Check out Project Gutenburg for some books by Maurice Leblanc about the adventures of Arsene Lupin, the original French gentleman-thief on which Lupin III is heavily based. Think of him as a mix of equal parts James Bond, Don Juan, and a criminal Sherlock Holmes. Even the movie is a direct rip from Leblanc's La Comtesse de Cagliostro about Lupin in his 20s falling in love with the Countess Cagliostro (unfortunately, Gutenberg doesn't have that one even in the original French).
*Note: Please disregard this statement, as Rycel has absolutely no grasp of reality. Plan 9 From Outer Space is, in fact, the absolute worst movie ever. Go ask anyone who has seen it........Seriously, go ask them....GO ON ALREADY! _________________ Rycel's Death Count on this board: 7
